Item Availability Overview
The Item Availability Overview provides information about when and where an item is available. You can view the availability of all items per rental location or rented (customer) location filtered on date parameters and item category code.
You can also use the Item Availability Overview page to create a Rental Quote, Rental Reservation, or Rental Contract to a rental customer for an item. Existing Rental Quotes, Rental Reservations, and Rental Contracts can be viewed from this page as well.
Item Availability Overview Page
The fields on the Item Availability Overview page are described in the following table.

| Rental Start Date | Filters the available items by a rental start date; defaults to the work date. | |

| Show Rental Location | Determines if the item availability shows locations designated as Use As Rental Location. Only this toggle or the Show Rented Location toggle can be turned on; turning on one turns off the other. | |
| Show Rented Location | Determines if the item availability shows locations designated as Use As - Rented. Only this toggle or the Show Rental Location toggle can be turned on; turning on one turns off the other. | |
| Rental Location | Determines which rental location to use for creating rental documents. | |

To create rental documents
Note
The number series for sales orders must have the Manual Nos. checkbox selected.
- Choose the
icon, enter Item Availability Overview, and then choose the related link. - Set filters on item category code, rental start and end dates.
- Turn on either the Show Rental Location or Show Rented Location toggle.
- In the Rental Location field, enter the location to be rented from.
- In the Item Availability By Location FastTab, select the line with the item to create a rental document for.
- Choose the Create Rental Quote With Item, Create Rental Reservation With Item, or Create Rental Contract With Item action.
- In the Customers page, choose the rental customer to create the rental document for.
- Choose the OK button.
- Choose the Yes button to open the new rental document.
- The rental document opens with the selected customer and Rental Start Date, Rental End Date and item from the Item Availability Overview, using the work date as the Posting Date, Order Date, and Document Date.
