Project Types
Project Types are used to create logical classifications among projects. Each project type can have a specific number series, default dimension and posting group attached. The Project Types page shows all available project types.
To create project types
- Choose the icon, enter Project Types, and then choose the related link.
- Choose the Project List action to view all projects with the selected Project Type.
- Choose the Setup action, to add project types.
- On the Project Types Setup page, choose the New action.
- Fill in or update the fields as described in the following tables.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Code | Unique identifier for the project type. |
Description | Short description of the project type. |
Default Status | Indicates the status that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Project is created with this Project Type. |
Project Nos. | Number series to be used for this Project Type. |
Default Sales Code | Indicates the Sales Code that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Project is created with this Project Type. |
Procurement Planning Required | Determines if the planning and release of a procurement process is mandatory for this Project Type. The value in this field defaults to the Project Card when the Project Type is entered. |
Default Project Posting Group | Indicates the Project Posting Group that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Project is created with this Project Type. |
Default Dimension Value | Indicates the project type dimension value that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Project is created with this Project Type. |
Default Unit Price Base | Indicates the Unit Price Base that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Project is created with this Project Type. |
Default QC Template | Indicates the QC Test List for the Project that will be created each time a Project is created with this Project Type. For more information, see QC Templates. |
List Sorting | Enables a logical sorting of Project Types but overrides alphabetical sorting. For example, entering a 1 means that it will be shown first in the list. |
Project Type when Order | Project Type to be changed to on the Project Card when a project is converted from a quote into an order. |
