Batch Calculation Journal

The Batch Calculation Journal displays calculation results generated by the Batch Item Standard Cost Calculation batch job when the Preview Mode option is enabled. The journal allows you to review calculated costs before approving them for application to items and stockkeeping units.

Accessing the Batch Calculation Journal

The Batch Calculation Journal can be accessed from the Tell Me feature. Choose the icon, enter Batch Calculation Journal, and then choose the related link. The journal can also be set to open automatically after running the batch job by enabling the Show Preview Journal option in the Batch Item Standard Cost Calculation request page.

Journal Lines

Each line in the Batch Calculation Journal represents a calculated cost for an item or stockkeeping unit with the New Calculation Status field set to Simulated. The journal displays relevant information including item or stockkeeping unit identification, current standard cost, calculated new standard cost, cost difference, as well as the previous calculation status.

Actions

The actions in the Batch Calculation Journal are described in the following table.

Menu	Action	Description
Manage	Delete	Deletes the selected journal lines. Deleting journal lines without approval will result in the related calculations being marked as Deleted and removed from the journal.
Actions	Show Calculation	Opens the related Calculation Card for detailed review.
	Show Batch Log	Opens the Batch Calculation Log for the related batch process.
	Approve	Approves the selected journal lines and applies the calculated costs to items and stockkeeping units according to the selected calculation mode.
