    Compare Service BOM Versions

The Matrix per Version function displays the components of a Service BOM side-by-side across the current version and available archived versions in a matrix layout. This makes it easy to identify differences in component quantities and to see which components were added or removed between versions.

    Note

Archived versions are only shown if Service BOM archives exist. Archives can be created manually or automatically. For more information, see Service BOM Archive.

When started from the Service BOM Archive list, you can select which archived versions should be included in the comparison.

    Access Matrix per Version

The Matrix per Version comparison is accessible from the Service BOM and from the Service BOM Archives, providing different methods for comparing versions.

To compare all available versions from the active Service BOM

    1. Open a Service BOM.
    2. Choose the Matrix per Version action.
    3. The Matrix per Version page opens and displays the components from the active Service BOM together with any available archived versions for side-by-side comparison.
    Note

Archived versions are only shown if Service BOM archives exist.

    To compare selected versions

    1. Open a Service BOM and then choose the View Archive action.
    2. In the Service BOM Archives page, select the versions you want to include in the comparison.
    3. Choose the Matrix per Version action.
    4. The Matrix per Version page opens, showing the active (current) Service BOM version together with the selected archived versions for side-by-side comparison.

    Matrix per Version Page

The Matrix per Version page displays Service BOM components in a matrix format where:

    • Each component is displayed as a row.
    • The active (current) version and the selected archived versions are displayed as columns.
    • Quantity values are shown in the cells for each component and version (cells can be empty if a component is not present in a version).

    Visual Indicators

The matrix uses the following visual indicators to highlight differences:

    • Bold line values (e.g., item number/description) – indicates that differences were detected between the displayed versions (for example quantity changes or a component that exists only in some versions).
    • Green values in columns – indicates the current (non-archived) version columns (Version No. = 0).
    • Version numbers in parentheses – indicates archived versions (Version No. > 0), for example "(1)", "(2)".

    Column Display Options

The Show Column Name field in the General section controls how columns are labeled. The options are:

    • Type – displays the source type (for example Service BOM or Service BOM Archive).
    • BOM No. – displays the Service BOM No. for the current Service BOM. For archived versions it displays the trigger information and the created date/time, plus the version number in parentheses.

    Drill-Down to Line Details

Choose a quantity value in any cell to open the corresponding lines in the Service BOM Line List or Service BOM Line Archive Lines page (opened with a filtered/marked view for the selected cell).

To browse all lines, remove the filters and/or the marked-only selection in the opened page.

    Card Action

Choose the Card action to open the Item Card for the selected component.
