External Assembly
Assembly orders in COSMO Discrete Manufacturing support subcontracting with supply of material, inventory handling on different locations, external service items, and warehousing.
The following graphic illustrates the processes for assembly order subcontracting.
As an alternative to opening the subcontracting worksheet, transfer orders, and purchase orders to complete the external assembly process, a single page accessed from the Assembly Order is used.
This topic describes the functions used to handle external assembly functionality in COSMO Discrete Manufacturing.

The external assembly functionality is based on the external production functionality. While this topic provides information about using subcontracting with assembly orders, it may be helpful to refer the external production content as needed.
