Processing By-Product Output

For output posting, the by-product items are added automatically to the:

• Production Journal if it is opened for a Production Order line with attached lines.
• Output Journal if a Production Order line is added with attached lines.

If using cost allocations, component and operation costs are allocated proportionally based on the percentages. For more information, see Proportional Cost Allocation for By-Products.

TAN-Based Output with By-Products

When posting output using a Routing TAN in the Output Journal, you can control whether by-product items are automatically included using the TAN Consider Additional Lines setting on the Item Journal Batch page.

When the TAN Consider Additional Lines checkbox is selected, all products, by-products, and reclaimed items related to that TAN are displayed in the journal when you explode the routing.
