Exchange Production BOM Item in Production Structure

The Exchange Production BOM & Structure Item function in COSMO Process Manufacturing uses the same logic of the standard Exchange Production BOM Item function, which searches the Production BOMs for an item and then exchanges that item for a different one. However, if the Production BOM line was created by a Production Structure line, the Exchange Production BOM & Structure Item function exchanges the item in the Production Structure line, not in the Production BOM line. The Production BOM line will be changed when the Production Structure is re-certified.

Lot Determining During Item Exchange

When a production structure line or production BOM line is exchanged, the Lot Determining setting is evaluated for the replacement line:

• If the original line was marked as Lot Determining and the replacement item has the Lot Determining toggle enabled on the item card, the replacement line is also marked as Lot Determining.
• If the original line was not marked as Lot Determining, or if the replacement item does not have Lot Determining enabled on the item card, the replacement line is not marked as Lot Determining.
