Production Order No. as Lot No.

When COSMO Process Manufacturing and COSMO Quality Assurance are used together, the production order number can be used as the lot number in the item tracking of a production order line. To do this, turn on Use Prod. Order No. as Lot No. on the Process Manufacturing Setup page (see Process Manufacturing Setup, General FastTab).

Item Tracking on Production Order Lines

COSMO Quality Assurance creates the item tracking line of a production order line for items that meet all of the following conditions:

• Automatic Lot No. Creation is turned on for the item. This field and Autom. Create Lot No. at Status are on the Item Tracking FastTab.
• The production order line has reached the status selected in Autom. Create Lot No. at Status (Firm Planned or Released), and the production order is not finished.
• The item tracking code of the item has Lot Specific Tracking and Lot Manuf. Inbound Tracking selected.

When Use Prod. Order No. as Lot No. is turned on in the Process Manufacturing Setup page, the lot number of this item tracking line is the production order number.

Items with a Lot Nos. Number Series

If Automatic Lot No. Creation is turned on and a number series is entered in Lot Nos. for the item, the lot number is the next number from that number series. The production order number is not used for these items.

Items without Automatic Lot No. Creation

COSMO Quality Assurance does not create an item tracking line for items with Automatic Lot No. Creation turned off. The production order number is therefore not applied to the production order line of these items.
