Engineering Change Notices in Project Budget Calculation

Engineering change notices (ECNs) are used when changes must be made during manufacturing. In COSMO Project Manufacturing, these notices are handled in the Project Budget Calculation page.

ECNs keep changes under control, so always create one instead of manually changing drawings once a project has started. A typical workflow is:

1. On a budget line, use the Create Eng. Change Notice action.
   • A new ECN is created and automatically linked to the line.
   • All sub-items are included in the ECN with quantities and drawings.
2. Later, you can open the ECNs from the line to track changes.

Note

If you try to change or delete a line that already has an ECN, you will be asked for confirmation first.

To create an engineering change notice

1. Choose the icon, enter Projects, and then choose the related link.
2. Open the Project Card with the budget calculation that requires a change.
3. Choose the line that requires a change and then choose Functions > Create Eng. Change Notice on the Actions menu.
4. In the Change Reason Code field, enter the reason for the change.
5. Enter a Drawing No. and Drawing Type Code as needed.
6. Enter comments in the Comments FastTab.
7. Choose the Send action when you are ready to continue the process.

Source Drawing Set FactBox

The Source Drawing Set FactBox shows the status of the drawing in the selected Project Budget Calculation line.
