To transfer sequences to other Business Central databases, for example to save time when creating new sequences or copy settings to another company, you can export and import sequences.

To export a sequence

  1. Choose the Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature icon, enter Sequences - Data Integration Framework, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select a sequence, and then choose the Export Marked action.
  3. Open the file or select a file location to save it.

To import a sequence

  1. Choose the Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature icon, enter Sequences - Data Integration Framework, and then choose the related link.
  2. Choose the Import from XML File action.
  3. In the Import Sequence Configuration dialog box, choose the Choose button.
  4. Select the XML file that contains the sequence, and then choose the Open button.
Caution

Sequences that exist in the database will be overwritten during an import.

Template Catalog

Choose the Template Catalog action on the Data Integration Framework Sequences page to open the template catalog and import Sequence Configurations from the COSMO CONSULT content delivery network. Typically, a sequence configuration requires an additional mapping and partner configuration during the import.

Note

The import works similar to the XML import.
