Related Tables
- What is a related table?
- How do I create a related table?
- What is an example of a related table?
Tip
Summary: This chapter explains how to create a related table in the COSMO Data Integration Framework. It provides an example of how a related table can be used to record changes to multiple records. It also explains that when deleting an item variant, the related item is not deleted, but recorded with Modify.
With Related Tables, other Records with changes may also be recorded.
To create a related table
- Choose Related Tables on the Record Pool Card page to open the Record Pool Related Tables page.
- On the Record Pool Related Tables page, fill in the fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.
There should always be at least one Related Filter for Related Tables. With Related Filters, all related Records in the Related Table can be identified. Modifications for more than one Record can be recorded.
The type of causing record (modification trigger) always corresponds to Modify, even when a Record is removed or inserted.
Example
The following describes an exemplary scenario for Table Items (27) and Item Variants (5401):
Changes of an item variant are only recorded in Record Pools of Table 5401. If, within a Mapping, the Record Pool of Item Variant is indented to Record Pool Item, then the Record Pool Entries are probably passed. In case of linking Table 27 to the Record Pool of Table 5401, with modification of an item variant, the related item is recorded with type Modify too. The Mapping now processes the item and registers the modified item variant.
Warning
All Record Pools with Table No. 27 react in accordance with the (standard) change of the Record, including all Filter and Field settings.
Relates Tables can also be nested. A modification of an extended item line can cause a change of the related extended item header, which results in a change to the item.
Note
When deleting an item variant, the related item is not deleted, but recorded with Modify.
