Summary: This topic provides instructions for installing COSMO Mobile Solution in both SaaS and on-premises environments. In SaaS environments, the app can be installed from AppSource or the Extension Marketplace. In on-premises environments, the app requires the installation of the COSMO Licensing and COSMO Mobile Solution apps in the correct order.
This topic covers the installation of COSMO Mobile Solution. Typically an installation is only performed once by an administrator and is not executed by the user. The installation differs for SaaS and On-Premises (OnPrem) environments.
To install in SaaS environment
In SaaS environments, the app can be installed from Microsoft AppSource either from Business Central or directly from the Microsoft site. All dependencies are installed automatically.
Depending on the current Microsoft upgrade policy, you may not have the most current version of the app. To upgrade to the most current version, go to the Dynamics 365 Business Central admin center and perform the app upgrade for your environment.
Business Central
- In Business Central, choose the
icon, enter Microsoft AppSource apps, and then choose the related link. - If a message opens asking to allow the request to an external service, choose whether to Allow Always or Allow Once and then choose the OK button.
- In the Microsoft AppSource apps page, search for and choose COSMO Mobile Solution.
- In the App overview page, choose the Install App action.

If you choose the View on AppSource action, you're taken to the Microsoft AppSource Site.
- Follow the wizard instructions to complete the installation.
- After installation, go to the Business Central home page and license/register the app.
Microsoft AppSource Site
- Open the Microsoft AppSource site.
- Choose the Free trial button.
- You will be forwarded to a page where you must log in with your Business Central user credentials and select an environment to install the app to.
- Follow the wizard instructions to complete the installation.
- After installation, go to the Business Central home page and license/register the app.
To install in on-premises environment
To install COSMO Mobile Solution and its dependencies in an on-premises environment, download the application as a NuGet package. Refer to the technical specifications for each version to determine the minimum required versions of Business Central and the Base Application. If you do not have a Business Central developer license, you must create and install a runtime package of the app (Microsoft Documentation).
In addition to the Business Central Base Application, the following extensions must be installed in the specified order:
- COSMO Licensing app
- COSMO Mobile Solution
Important
If COSMO Mobile Solution is updated, you must open the Mobile Solution Center page to automatically execute the Metadata Refresh process. To access the page, choose the
icon, enter Mobile Solution Center, and then choose the related link.
