    Manage Text Additions

Text additions are predefined text snippets that can be inserted into long texts. The Rich Text Editor feature provides enhanced management for text additions with HTML formatting support.

    View or create text additions

    1. Open the Project Card.
    2. On the Bill of Quantities FastTab, ensure the Protect Bill of Quantities toggle is turned off.
    3. Open the page with the text additions that you want to view or create.
    4. In the BoQ lines, locate the position and then choose one of the following:
      • Choose the Yes value in the Text Addition Bidder or Text Addition Buyer field.
      • Select the position and then choose Text Additions from the drop-down arrow in the Long Text (Rich Text) FactBox.
      • Open the BoQ Project Texts page for the position, and then in the Long Text (Rich Text) FastTab choose the Text Additions action. . Choose the New action.
    5. Fill in the following fields:
      • Label: A numeric identifier (1-10 digits) that uniquely identifies the text addition for GAEB export/import. Example: "61" or "1234567890".
      • Caption: A descriptive name for the text addition (e.g., "Manufacturer").
    6. In the body of the Caption section, enter and format the text content using the Rich Text Editor.
    7. Close the page to save the text addition.

If you attempt to save a text addition with an invalid label format, you will receive an error message.

    Use placeholder syntax

Text additions are embedded in the HTML content using a special HTML attribute format.

    Placeholders have the following restrictions:

    • Text additions are stored as HTML elements with the text-addition-label attribute in the background.
    • The label value in the HTML must match a text addition record's Label field.
    • Text additions are displayed with their formatted content when viewing in the Rich Text Editor.
    • Modifying text addition content requires editing the text addition record itself, not the placeholder in the long text.
