Test Order Creation

Based on settings in the Test Plan Assignment page, Test Orders can be created manually from several document types or are automatically created from posting processes.

Manual Creation

The following table lists the documents – along with the related Test Plan Assignment Source Type – that allow manual creation of Test Orders.

Purchase Receipt	Posted Purchase Receipt	Additional Test Orders/Test Incidents can be created manually by choosing Functions > Create Test Orders on the Posted Purchase Receipt Lines FastTab.
Purchase Receipt	Warehouse Receipt	Additional Test Orders/Test Incidents can be created manually by choosing Functions > Create Test Order function on the Warehouse Receipt Lines FastTab.
Sales Order	Sales Order	Choose Line > Quality Assurance > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.
Sales Order	Warehouse Shipment	Choose Functions > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.
Order-specific	Sales Order	Choose Line > Quality Assurance > Order-specific Test Plan on the Lines FastTab.
Sales Return Order	Sales Return Order	Choose Functions > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.
Sales Return Receipt	Posted Return Receipt	Choose Functions > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.
Production Order	Released Prod. Order	If the Prod. Test Order Creation field = Manual in the Quality Assurance Setup page, then choose Functions > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.
Component	Prod. Order Components	If the Prod. Test Order Creation field = Manual in the Quality Assurance Setup page, then choose the Create Test Orders action on the Quality Assurance menu.
Operation	Prod. Order Routing	If the Prod. Test Order Creation field = Manual in the Quality Assurance Setup page, then choose the Create Test Order action on the Quality Assurance menu.
Inventory	Lot/Serial No. Administration	Choose New > Create Test Order NOTE: An inventory check can only be done in connection with lot numbers, not for serial numbers.
Transfer Order	Transfer Order	Choose Line > Quality Assurance > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.
Service Order	Service Item Worksheet	Choose Functions > Create Test Order on the Lines FastTab.

Automatic Creation

The following table lists the documents that trigger automatic Test Order creation during posting processes.

Sales Order	Sales Order	When the order is released, if the Automatic Test Order Creation checkbox is selected on the line in the Test Plan Assignment page, and the Item Test Order Option and Test Plan No. fields are populated.
Order-specific	Sales Order	When the order is released, if the Automatic Test Order Creation checkbox is selected on the line in the Test Plan Assignment page, and the Item Test Order Option and Test Plan No. fields are populated.
Sales Return Order	Sales Return Order	When the order is released, if the Automatic Test Order Creation checkbox is selected on the line in the Test Plan Assignment page, and the Item Test Order Option and Test Plan No. fields are populated.
Transfer Order	Transfer Order	When the order is released, if the Automatic Test Order Creation checkbox is selected on the line in the Test Plan Assignment page, and the Item Test Order Option and Test Plan No. fields are populated.
Purchase Receipt	Posted Purchase Receipt	When the receipt is posted, if the Create Test Order field was set on the Purchase Order line, either manually or automatically by the Create Test Order on Receipt field on the Item Vendor Catalog page.
Purchase Receipt	Warehouse Receipt	When the receipt is posted, if the Create Test Order field was set on the Purchase Order line, either manually or automatically by the Create Test Order on Receipt field on the Item Vendor Catalog page.
Production Order	Released Prod. Order	- If the Prod. Test Order Creation field = Prod. Order Release in the Quality Assurance Setup page, then automatically by changing the status of a Production Order to Released. - If the Prod. Test Order Creation field = First Output in the Quality Assurance Setup page, then automatically when the first output is posted for a released production order.
