Approval Expiration

If the Check Checksum upon Approval toggle is turned on in the Workflow Setup page, you specify that issued approvals should automatically expire if the data has changed.

In this way, for example, an already issued approval for a purchase order expires automatically as soon as somebody modifies that purchase order.
