Dynamic Checklist
The Dynamic Checklist is a checklist template where variables and formulas are set up.
In addition to the fields previously described, the fields in the following table are intended for dynamic calculations within the checklist.

| Variable for Dynamic BOM | A value in the Input field in the checklist line can be stored as a variable for further use in the checklist or in the dynamic BOM. If the same variable is entered on more than one Checklist Template line, a message will ask you to confirm your choice. The variables have a global validity within the checklist and the Master BOMs. NOTE: The value must exist in the Variable/Attribute Types table in order to add it to a Checklist Template line. |
| Formula Function | Specifies a formula for a calculation. Choose the first ellipsis button to open the Formula Editor, which can assist with formula creation. Choose the second ellipsis button to insert variables or dyn. user functions. |
| Value of Function | Specifies the value resulting from the formula calculated in the Formula Function field during the calculation process. |
| Value of Function (alphanum.) | Specifies the alphanumeric value resulting from the formula calculated in the Formula Function field during the calculation process. |
| Value of Function is Default | During a new calculation, transfers the determined function value to the Input field if the field is empty. Lines already filled are not overwritten unless the Always Overwrite checkbox is selected. - If the Input Type field is set to Decimal, then the calculated value from the Value of Function field is transferred to the Input field. - If the Input Type field is set to Text and the selected Variable for Dynamic BOM has Attribute Terms, then the text from the attribute term that matches the calculated value from the Value of Function field is transferred to the Input field. This field is used in combination with the Get Value from ... fields (see Transfer Information into Checklists). NOTE: This checkbox is automatically selected on new checklist template lines. If the Formula Valid and Get Value from... fields are empty, this setting is ignored. |
| Always Overwrite | Determines if the result from the Formula Function field is transferred to the Input field even if the field already contains a value. This field is used in combination with the Get Value from ... fields (see Transfer Information into Checklists). NOTE: This checkbox is automatically selected on new checklist template lines. If the Formula Value and Get Value from... fields are empty, this setting is ignored. |
| Formula Show Line / Show Line | Specifies a condition for whether the checklist line is shown (compare to the Formula Valid field in the Dynamic Master BOM). If this condition is True (<> 0 corresponds) or is empty, then the Show Line checkbox is selected. If this condition is False, then the Show Line checkbox is not selected. In the Formula Show Line field, choose the first ellipsis button to open the Formula Editor, which can assist with formula creation. Choose the second ellipsis button to insert variables or dyn. user functions. |

| Formula Message | Specifies a formula for a calculation to generate a message. Choose the first ellipsis button to open the Formula Editor, which can assist with formula creation. Choose the second ellipsis button to insert variables or dyn. user functions. |
| Message Exists | Indicates if a message exists for this checklist line. |
| Formula Mandatory Input | Specifies a condition in the same way as Formula Show Line so that the result of the formula should be True (<>0) or False (0). The result of this formula will set the Mandatory Input field to True to indicate during run time if a checklist line must be filled out or not. In the Formula Mandatory Input field, choose the first ellipsis button to open the Formula Editor, which can assist with formula creation. Choose the second ellipsis button to insert variables or dyn. user functions. |
| Automatic Recalculation | Specifies whether the formulas entered with a checklist line are automatically recalculated after each input. NOTE: The Automatic Recalculation toggle in the header must be turned on to automatically recalculate the lines. |
| Recalculate on Opening | Specifies whether the formulas entered with a checklist line are automatically recalculated when the checklist is opened. This setting prevents the recalculation of all lines, which is helpful for checklists with many lines so that processing times are shortened. You can manually select this checkbox on only the lines that must be recalculated upon opening the checklist. |
| Free Text | Determines whether the value entered in the Input field on the checklist line is transferred to a description line in the Document BOM, as defined in the Master BOM. In the Checklist Template, a variable, such as TEXT, is defined in the Variable for Dynamic BOM field. In the Master BOM, the relevant description field is set up with substitute symbols around the variable: #TEXT#. For more information, see Free Text. |
