Compare Construction Orders
In complex manufacturing environments, it is often necessary to compare technical configurations – for example, when a base project serves as a template for a new customer-specific version. Rather than rebuilding the structure manually or copying everything from scratch, you want to be able to:
- Compare all Construction Lines between two Construction Orders based on predefined field mapping
- Identify insertions, deletions, and modifications based on configured fields
- Transfer selected changes from the source to the target
- Retain full control over each change via a user-driven confirmation dialog
The Construction BOM Compare & Update feature in COSMO Discrete Manufacturing enables this structured comparison between two Construction Orders – a source and a target – and allows you to selectively transfer differences from one to the other.
The comparison logic supports:
- BOM structure (Construction Lines and sub-lines)
- Manufacturing Data (dimensions, quality, tools, personnel)
- Field-level differences based on BOM compare field configuration
- Recursive comparison for nested Construction Lines (via the Belongs to Entry No. relationship)
- User-confirmed updates for full control
This feature provides a reliable way to manage changes across similar projects or variants, without duplicating entire documents or risking inconsistent updates.
