Calculate Quantity Per from Share of Recipe
In some cases, users want to start component procurement for demand (based on sales line) long before the production order is created. The integration of recipes from COSMO Process Manufacturing to COSMO Discrete Manufacturing allows this procurement scenario to occur, using the Quantity per as the quantity to purchase.
When a Production BOM of Type = Recipe is requested in a Document BOM/Construction BOM/Service BOM, the shares of recipes (Share %) are transferred to the BOM line, where is it used to calculate the Quantity per of the BOM lines based on the share of recipe.
Note
It is only possible to calculate the Quantity per from a Share of Recipe for a Document BOM/Construction BOM/Service BOM line that has the Type Production Structure field set to <Blank>.
Calculation
The Quantity per is calculated by: Net Weight of Assembly Item * Share % of Component / 100 / Net Weight of Component * Quantity of the assembly item
If you are in the first BOM level, the Quantity (of the assembly item) for the calculation will come from the Sales Line or Construction Header. In Service BOMs, the Quantity (of the assembly item) will always be 1.
Note
This calculation includes the conversion from Net Weight to Recipe Weight for the component items. The calculated Quantity per refers to the Recipe Weight because this is the complete quantity to consume.
Example
A recipe is created for item P-1000 with the following lines:

Each item set as a Share of Recipe has a Net Weight/Recipe Weight of 1. Item P-1000 has a Net Weight of 1180.
A sales order is created for item P-1000 for a quantity of 5 PCS. When the Document BOM is requested, the Production BOM toggle is turned on in the request page. In the Document BOM, the Quantity per values for the share of recipe lines are calculated from the Share % and the value for the item is calculated based on the sales line quantity.

The values of the share of recipe items are based on the following values:
- Net Weight of P-1000 = 1180
- Share % of Components = 47.25 and 5.5
- Net Weight of Components = 1
- Quantity from Sales Line = 5
Therefore, the Quantity per is calculated as:
- 1180 * 47.25 / 100 = 557.55 / 1 * 5 = 2787.75 (Rounding Precision = 1) => 2788
- 1180 * 5.5 / 100 = 64.9 / 1 * 5 = 324.5 (Rounding Precision = 1) => 325
