Error Codes Germany

The following Error Codes are returned in case of an incorrect query:

Please bare in mind that the descriptions of following Error Codes are only available in the language of the respective country in which they are valid.

Error Code	Description
200	The requested VAT registration number is valid.
201	The requested VAT registration number is invalid.
202	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It is not registered in the Business Database of the EU Member States. Note: Your business partner can find out his valid VAT registration number from the tax authority responsible for him. He may have to apply for his VAT number to be included in the database.
203	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It is only valid from ... (see Field 'Gueltig_ab').
204	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It was in the period from ... until ... valid. (see Field 'Gueltig_ab' and 'Gueltig_bis').
205	Your request cannot currently be answered by the requested EU Member State or for other reasons. Please try again later. In case of repeated problems, please contact the Federal Central Tax Office - Saarlouis office.
206	Your German VAT registration number is invalid. A confirmation request is therefore not possible. You can find out the reason for this from the Federal Central Tax Office - Saarlouis office.
207	You have been allocated a German VAT registration number for the sole purpose of taxing intra-Community acquisitions. You are therefore not entitled to submit confirmation requests.
208	The VAT registration number you have requested is currently being requested by another user. It is therefore not possible to process it. Please try again later.
209	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It does not comply to the structure that applies to this EU Member States. (Structure of the VAT registration numbers of all EU countries).
210	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It does not comply with the check digit rules that apply to this EU Member States.
211	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It contains invalid characters (such as spaces, dots, hyphen etc.).
212	The requested VAT registration number is invalid. It contains an invalid country code.
213	You do not have the permission to query a German VAT registration number request.
214	Your German VAT registration number incorrect. It starts with "DE" followed by 9 digits.
215	Your request does not contain all the necessary information for a simple confirmation request (your German VAT registration number and the foreign VAT registration number). Your request can therefore not be processed.
216	Your request does not contain all the necessary information for a qualified confirmation request (your German VAT number, the foreign VAT number, company name including legal form and location). A simple confirmation request was carried out with the following result: The requested VAT registration number is valid.
217	An error has occurred when processing data from the requested EU Member States. Your request can therefore not be processed.
218	A qualified confirmation is currently not possible. A simple confirmation request was made with the following result: The requested VAT registration number is valid.
219	An error has occurred while performing the qualified confirmation request. A simple confirmation request was made with the following result: The requested VAT registration number is valid.
220	An error has occurred when requesting the official confirmation message. You will not receive a letter.
221	The request data does not contain all necessary parameters or an invalid data type. For more information, see the notes on the interface call.
223	The requested VAT registration number is valid. The print function is no longer available, as the proof must be provided in accordance with § 18e.1 UStAE.
