Service Orders in Graphical Rental Disposition
To include service orders in the Graphical Rental Disposition page, the Expected Starting Date (Rental) or Starting Date field must be populated in the service order line.
Start and Finish Dates
The service order line includes dates that are used in the Graphical Rental Disposition: Expected Starting Date (Rental) and Expected Finishing Date (Rental). These dates allow you to work with the planning in the Graphical Rental Disposition without affecting the dates in the service order line. However, the visualization of the service order start/end depends on the Starting Date and Finishing Date fields as well.
Starting Date
The date in the Expected Starting Date (Rental) field serves as the start date for the service order in the Graphical Rental Disposition. If no date is entered in the Expected Starting Date (Rental) field in the service order line, the date in the Starting Date field is used as the start date.
If the Expected Starting Date (Rental) and Starting Date fields are populated with different dates, the Starting Date will be used as the start date for the service order as well as in the tooltip.

Finishing Date
The date in the Expected Finishing Date (Rental) field serves as the end date for the service order in the Graphical Rental Disposition. If no date is entered in the Expected Finishing Date (Rental) field in the service order line, the date in the Finishing Date field is used as the end date. If neither field has a date, the service order will extend indefinitely and the end date in the tooltip will be empty.

If the Expected Finishing Date (Rental) and Finishing Date fields are populated with different dates, the Finishing Date will be used as the end date for the service order as well as in the tooltip.
Service Order Movement
As long as the Finishing Date field is not populated in the Service Order line, there are two types of movements for service orders in the Graphical Rental Disposition page:
- Horizontally within the entry, which means you can change the time frame of the rental periods for non-serial and serial tracked service items.
- Vertically, which means you can move the service order to a different serial number as well as a different service item as long as the service item/serial number belongs to the customer.
To change time frames
Entire time frames can be changed or just start/end dates:
- To move an entire service order to another date, tap and hold (or click) the line and move it forward or backward to a new date.
- To move a start or end date of a service order, tap and hold (or click) the start or end date of the line and extend or shorten the time frame.
In either case, the service order line color will change to gray until the update process is complete. Then it will change back to the service order color.
To assign to a different serial number/service item
Service orders can be moved from one serial number/service item to another by tapping and holding (or clicking) the line and moving it to another row.
If the time frame is different, it can be changed after the service order is moved to the new serial number.
Open Service Order
To open a service order, tap and hold (or right-click) and then choose Open Service Order.
Planning Board Visuals
The visuals for helping rental planners quickly see the status and availability of their rental items/machines due to service are described in this section.
Open vs Finished Service Orders
Service orders without a finishing date have a solid color line from start to end (see the graphic in Staring Date). Once the Finishing Date field is populated in the service order line, the service order line is considered finished and will be blocked from changes in the Graphical Rental Disposition. Finished service orders have the same solid color but a gray forward slash overlay as well as black starting and ending points to indicate that they cannot be extended/shortened.

Service Status
The status shown in the Graphical Rental Disposition line is based on the Service Order Status of the Repair Status Code assigned to the line. It is not automatically updated when the Finishing Date is entered; however, the Finishing Date is updated if the Repair Status Code is changed to one with Service Order Status = Finished.
Availability
In general, service orders affect the availability of the items/machines the same as the rental documents.
