    Price Comparisons

Various price comparisons in the PQM Placing Matrix help you make more informed decisions regarding vendor selection and cost management. These settings are defined in the PQM page and PQM Placing Matrix.

    Difference Base

The PQM Placing Matrix shows a price difference in percent. By default, this calculation uses the lowest/best price as base.

With the Difference Base Type field in Options field in the PQM page, you can choose which value should be used as base:

    • Ideal Price – Uses the lowest/best price as base.
    • Average Price – Calculates an average over all prices (that are not zero) and uses that as base.
    • 100% Bidder – Uses the prices of the vendor marked as 100% Bidder as base.

    100% Bidder

In the PQM Vendors page (opened from the Assigned Vendors action or the Assigned Vendors field in the General FastTab), you can set one PQM vendor as a 100% Bidder. This setting causes the selected vendor to be the first entry in the PQM Placing Matrix.

Furthermore, the prices can be used as base for the difference percent calculation. If the selected vendor does not have prices (yet), the Ideal Price logic is used for the difference percent calculation.

    Note

If the Difference Base Type field is set to 100% Bidder in the corresponding PQM Header, then one vendor must be selected as the 100% Bidder.

    Outlier Highlighting

In the Options FastTab of the PQM page, you can define limits to calculate and visually mark anomalies or outliers in the PQM Placing Matrix, providing clear indicators for values that deviate significantly from the norm. The fields are:

    • Outlier Upper Limit % – Price differences bigger than this value will be marked in red; minimum value = 100.
    • Outlier Lower Limit % – Price differences smaller than this value will be marked in red; maximum value = 100.

Outlier limits are based on the difference percent calculation.

In the PQM Placing Matrix, choose Actions > Functions > Toggle Outlier Filter to filter the page on positions with price values that trigger the outlier limit check.

    Not Offered Positions

If Purchase Quote Manager positions are not offered or do not have an price in the associated Purchase Quote, you can fill those "missing" prices with calculated values.

In the Options FastTab of the PQM page, the options in the Not Offered Price Base field for calculated prices are:

    • <Blank> – Displays zero values or "-" if no purchase quote is found.
    • Average Price – Uses the average price and marks the value with a "⌀" symbol.
    • Ideal Price – Uses the lowest/best price and marks the value with a "🟢" symbol.
    • Highest Price – Uses the highest price and marks the value with a "🔴" symbol.

Matrix cells containing calculated prices do not influence the average price and show no "Difference %" value for normal positions. However, they do influence the total price and "Difference %" of the summary line and react to outlier highlighting.

    Show Average and Ideal Prices

In the Settings section of the PQM Placing Matrix, you can show average, ideal, and median price columns to view these metrics alongside bidder prices:

    • Ideal Price – Shows the lowest price over all connected purchase quotes.
    • Average Price – Shows the calculated average price over all connected purchase quotes.
    • Median Price – Shows the calculated median/middle price over all connected purchase quotes:
      • If the number of valid quote prices is odd, the exact middle value is chosen.
      • If the number is even, the average of the middle two prices is calculated as median.
    Note

These fields ignore empty prices/zero values, as those are interpreted as not valid for the purchase decision. The visibility of these fields are saved in the PQM page and are configurable directly in the PQM Placing Matrix.
