Copy and Move Positions and Levels
This section explains how to copy and move Positions and Levels within the Project Budget Calculation page.
Copying Positions and Levels
Within COSMO Project Manufacturing, it is possible to copy Positions from one project to another. When a Position is copied, the subordinate Levels can be copied with it.
Search Project Lines Page
In the Project Budget Calculation, select the position to which the position or positions are to be copied before running the function and then choose the Copy from action on the Home menu. In the Search Project Line request page, enter the project information to copy. The Search Project Lines page opens with all suitable results.
Choose the New Search action to start a new search for the project copy, the Position Card action to open the Position Card for the selected project line, and the Planning and Processing action to open the Project Planning and Processing page for the select project line.
The fields at the top of the page are described in the following table.

Copy Project Structure
To copy positions and levels from one project to another, follow these steps:
Choose the icon, enter Projects, and then choose the related link.
Locate and select the project to which the structure will be copied.
On the Home menu, choose the Budget Calculation action.
On the Home menu, choose the New Position action.
Note
At least one Position must exist before a structure can be copied.
On the Home menu, choose the Copy from action.
On the Project FastTab, enter the project number to be copied in the No. filter field.
Enter other filters as needed and then choose the OK button. Results that match the filtering criteria are displayed in the Search Project Lines page.
In the Search Project Lines page, choose settings in the top of the page to determine if all lines or selected lines are copied, as well as what other information from the source project is to be included.
Select the line or lines to be copied and then choose the OK button. The lines are integrated at the current project WBS position.
If additional lines need to be copied, add additional positions and then repeat steps 5–8.
Note
Complete project structures can also be copied from one project to another using the Copy Project function.
Moving Positions and Levels
It is possible to move Positions and Levels in the Project Budget Calculation page. On the Actions menu, choose the Move menu and then choose the direction and degree of the move. The options are:
- Up (from one Position)
- Down (from one Position)
- Outdent (move out a Level)
- Indent (move in a Level)
Additionally, positions and related substructures can be moved using the Move Position function. In the Project Budget Calculation, select the position to move. On the Actions menu, choose Functions > Move Position. The Project Lines page opens with all project positions. Select the position to where the selected position is to be moved and then choose the OK button. The position and related substructures are inserted at the same level in which it was moved.
