Application Areas

The Product Configuration Management tool works with the Application Area technology in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Each page and each control has a property named "ApplicationArea". In standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central pages, this property is set to, for example, ApplicationArea = Basic, Suite;. This manages which pages and controls are visible, for example, depending on the User Experience that is set up in the Company Information window.

Each COSMO CONSULT product/module uses at least two application areas. For example, for the Process Manufacturing (PM) product, the following application areas are used:

• All – standard BC setting used for setup pages, such as Process Manufacturing Setup
• CCSPM – COSMO-specific setting used for PM-related pages, such as Production Structure (CCS = COSMO CONSULT Solution; PM = Process Manufacturing)
