Formula Mandatory Input
The Mandatory Input formula dynamically calculates whether a field is a mandatory field. The input in the Input field or in the Selected (Boolean) field is stored in the variable. The variable content is evaluated in the Mandatory Input formula and the result of the formula calculation (TRUE or FALSE) controls the value in the Mandatory Input field.
Example
In the following video, one question with two selection options, and two additional answers are defined in a checklist for configuring a hydraulic or mechanical lift. The selection options have been set up with input values 1 and 2, respectively. The variable "CL_LIFT" has been assigned to the question and then again in the Formula Mandatory Input field along with the input value "= 1" for the second answer line of Hydraulic Oil. The Mandatory Input checkbox is already selected for the first answer line of Power.
Additionally, the Automatic Recalculation checkboxes are selected on the question and answer lines.
When a user enters 1 in the Input field on the question line, the Mandatory Input checkbox is automatically selected in the Hydraulic Lift line and the Mechanical Lift line is hidden.
If a user enters 2 in the Input field on the question line, the Hydraulic Lift line is automatically hidden and the Mandatory Input checkbox is not selected in the Hydraulic Lift line.
