Unit of Weight and Unit of Volume
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has different fields that are unrelated to a unit of measure, for example Net Weight and Gross Weight. In the Process Manufacturing Setup page, enter a unit of measure that is used for the net weight of all items, like kilogram. Furthermore, a volume unit of measure can be determined that is used in the context of the weight unit of measure for calculating the density. Here, the weight unit of measure must correspond with the volume unit of measure to calculate the density.
Example
Density = kg / l
Density = g / cm²
In the Unit of Measure Conversions page, different units of measure from the base data are linked to each other. Using this linking, the calculation of the main data entry is done automatically.
The Unit of Measure Conversions page serves as a general unit of measure converting table in that the relation of two weight, length, area or volume units of measure can be entered.
In this page, the different unit of measure areas (Weight, Length, Area, Volume, and so on) cannot be mixed. For example, the relation from a weight unit of measure to a volume unit of measure cannot be done in this table and must be entered on the item instead.
Conversion Examples
General Conversion: 1 Kilogram = 1000 Gram
1000 Meter = 1 Kilometer
Item related conversion: 1 Kilogram = 2.7 Liter
