Product Data Management Setup
The Product Data Management Setup page is used to configure the core behavior for COSMO Product Data Management.
Access this page by choosing the 
icon, entering Product Data Management Setup, and then choosing the related link. The page contains several FastTabs and actions for different configuration areas, which are described in the following sections.
General FastTab
The Activate Appl. Area field makes pages and controls visible for COSMO Product Data Management. The setting in this field in combination with the settings in the Product Configuration Management tool control the Application Areas in standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Drawing FastTab
The fields in the Drawing FastTab are described in the following table.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Copy from Item to BOM | Specifies whether to copy drawings from an item to a BOM. The options are Always, Question, and Never. |
| Copy from Item to Routing | Specifies whether to copy drawings from an item to a routing. The options are Always, Question, and Never. |
| Copy from Prototype to Item | Specifies whether to copy drawings from a prototype item to new items. The options are Always, Question, and Never. If you are using the integration with COSMO Discrete Manufacturing in Advanced Manufacturing Suite (AMS), this field is available. For more information, see Copy Drawings from Prototype to Item. |
| Status Check | Defines how drawing status validation is enforced (for example, blocking with error vs. softer handling). |
| First Revision Code | Defines the initial revision code for drawings. For example, If the value A is stored, the following revision level is assigned the value B. If no value is set, numbering starts from the default sequence (000001). |
| Revision Mandatory | Determines if revision assignment is mandatory. |
| Status Code for Revision | Specifies the default revision status code to be used in revision-related processes. |
| Check Permission for Drawing Status | Determines if users need explicit drawing status permissions to change drawing status codes. NOTE: If permission checks for drawing status are changed, users may need to restart the client session. |
| Create Drawings Automatically | Determines if entering a non-existing drawing number in drawing set entries creates a drawing automatically. For more information, see Create Drawing from Drawing Set. |
| Default Drawing Type Code | Specifies the drawing type code to be used for automatically created drawings; required when Create Drawings Automatically is enabled. |
| Default Drawing Status Code | Specifies the drawing status code for automatically created drawings; required when Create Drawings Automatically is enabled. |
Revision Management FastTab
The fields in the Revision Management FastTab are described in the following table.

| Link New Revision to BOM | Determines if new revisions are automatically linked to BOM changes. |
| Create New BOM Version | Determines if a new BOM version is created during revision updates. |
| BOM Version Nos. | Specifies the number series for BOM versions. |
| BOM Status after Update | Specifies the target BOM status after revision update processing. |
| Link New Revision to Routing | Determines if new revisions are automatically linked to routing changes. To activate this field, the drawing status assigned in the Status Code for Revision field must allow a usage in routings. |
| Create New Routing Version | Determines if a new routing version is created during revision updates. |
| Routing Version Nos. | Specifies the number series for routing versions. This field must be populated if the Create New Routing Version field is activated. |
| Routing Status after Update | Specifies the target routing status after revision update processing. |
Engineering Change Management FastTab
The fields in the Engineering Change Management FastTab are described in the following table.

| Eng. Change Notice Nos. | Number series for engineering change notices. |
| Eng. Change Order Nos. | Number series for engineering change orders. |
| Eng. Change Text Format | Specifies the default text format for change descriptions in new engineering change orders/ The options are: - Plain Text: Descriptions are entered as plain text without formatting. - Rich text (HTML): Descriptions are entered using a rich text editor with formatting capabilities. For more information, see Rich Text Editing. |
App Licensing FastTab
The fields on the App Licensing FastTab include the app license key, the validation period, status of the license, and information regarding your license from the licensing server. The data is generated when the setup is initialized.

The actions on the Product Data Management Setup page are described in the following table.
