Document Connections
Using the Document Connections, you can provide specific information associated with your documents in various areas of the application, without linking them several times. For example, indication of the documents filed at the vendor in purchasing documents, which are based on the Purchase Header table (quote, order, bill, credit memo).
The Document Connections page is accessed using Tell Me. Choose the icon, enter Document Connections, and then choose the related link.
Select an existing Document Connection or create a new one.
General FastTab
The fields on the General FastTab are described in the following table.

Status | To activate a document connection, you must select the Certified option in the Status field. The options are: - New – Select this option for a new document connection. You can change the contents of the fields. - Certified – Select this option to certify a document connection. You are not able to change the contents of the fields. Only certified document connections are considered by the application at the indication. - Under Development – Select this option for document connections, which are currently under development. - Closed – Select this option for document connections, which are not used anymore. |

Document Category Filter | Use the Document Category Filter field to enter a filter to limit the visibility of documents for a user. | |
Source | Source Table No. | In the Source Table No. field, enter the table number of the table, from which you want to provide documents in the target table. Alternatively, use the lookup in the field and then select the table from the object list. |
Source Table Caption | The Source Table Caption field shows the name of the table. | |
Target | Target Table No. | In the Target Table No. field, enter the table number of the table, in which you want to provide documents of the source table. Alternatively, use the lookup in the field and then select the table from the object list. |

Lines FastTab
Use the Lines FastTab to set the specified tables in relation to each other that means similar to the field links in the workflow conditions.
In the Link Type field, you can select if you want to connect or filter a field.
- Field – If this option is selected, a field from the source table is linked to a field from the target table.
- Filter (Source) / (Target) – If this option is selected, a filter expression can be set to a field in the source / target table.
If the Link Type is set to Field or Filter (Source), the number from the source table field is entered in the Source Field No. field. Alternatively, use the lookup and select the relevant field. The name of the source field of the link is then displayed in the Source Field Caption field.
If the Link Type is set to Field or Filter (Target), the number from the target table field is entered in the Target Field No. field. Alternatively, use the lookup and select the relevant field. The name of the target field of the link is then displayed in the Target Field Caption field.
If the Link Type is set to Filter (Source) / (Target), the filter expression is entered in the Filter field.
The Comparison field defines how the selected field is to be compared with the condition. The following mathematical comparison operators are available: is equal to (=), greater than (>), less than (<), greater than or equal to (>=), less than or equal to (<=), and unequal to (<>).
Actions Menu
Choose the Copy from Connection action to copy an existing document connection into the current one. The status of the current target document connection must be New.
