Text in Service BOMs and Service Item Worksheets

Text from COSMO Text Module is available in the service BOM and service item worksheet.

Text from checklists

Text added to checklist template lines is accessible from the checklist for a service BOM by choosing Line > Line Texts on the Lines FastTab or by choosing the Yes value in the Line Text exists field on the line.

To add text in service BOM checklist

New text can be added in the Edit Text page opened as explained above.

  1. To use the Rich Text Editor, choose the Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) action (see Text Module Line).
  2. To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
    1. In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
    2. In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
    3. Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
    4. In the Color field, select the color of the text.
  3. Fill in the Print Mgt. Code as needed.
  4. Fill in additional lines as needed.
  5. Choose the Close button.

Text in service BOM

If a service item is created for a produced item after sales processing, and a service BOM is created, the text is transferred from:

  • a Document BOM, Construction Order, Production BOM, or another Service BOM if the Copy BOM action is run.
  • the master BOM if the Request BOM function is run.

If the text was set up with a Print Mgt. Code that includes the Service BOM Line table, then a pop-up window will open with the text when the item is added to the line.

Text added is accessible by a pop-up window, by choosing Line > Line Texts on the Lines FastTab, or by choosing the Yes value in the Line Text exists field on the line.

New text can be added in the Edit Text page as explained above.

Text in service item worksheet

COSMO Text Module functionality is available in the Service Item Worksheet by selecting the line for text and then choosing Line > Line Texts on the Lines FastTab.

This can be used to enter additional information during the service (e.g., why a part was replaced). This text will be transferred to the Service BOM so that other users know the reason of the exchange/addition. It improves the traceability of the service process.
