Integration of COSMO Text Module
With the COSMO Text Module integration to COSMO Process Manufacturing, text can be added to production structure and recipe lines as well as to planning pool lines and sequence planning work centers/production orders.
You can use the Rich Text Editor if it has been enabled in the Text Module Setup Card (see Rich Text Editor).

Item or work center text pop-up in production structures, recipes, and routings
If text has been added to an item or work center, and a Print Mgt. Code has been assigned that includes the Production Structure Line, Production BOM Line, or Routing Line table, then a pop-up window will open with the text when the item or work center is added to the production structure, recipe, or routing line.
Line text in production structures, recipes, and routings
Line text entered in a production structure will transfer to the line item in the recipe or routing when the production structure is certified.
To add text to a production structure line
- Choose the icon, enter Production Structures, and then choose the related link.
- Create a production structure or open an existing one.
- Select the line where the text needs to be added.
- On the Lines FastTab, choose Line > Line Texts.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose the Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) action (see Text Module Line).
- To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
- In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
- In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
- Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
- In the Color field, select the color of the text.
- In the Print Mgt. Code field, enter a code if you want the line text to print in the Production Structure report.
- Fill in additional lines as needed and then choose the Close button.
To add or open text in a recipe or routing line
- Choose the icon, enter Recipes or Routings, and then choose the related link.
- Create a recipe or routing or open an existing one.
- Select the line where the text is or needs to be added.
- On the Lines FastTab, choose Component > Line Texts for production boms or Operation > Line Texts for routings.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose the Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) action (see Text Module Line).
- To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
- In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
- In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
- Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
- In the Color field, select the color of the text.
- Fill in the Print Mgt. Code as needed.
- Fill in additional lines as needed.
- Choose the Close button.
Line text transfer to production order
Line text entered in a production structure will transfer to the prod. order component line or prod. order routing line if the production structure is created from the production structure.
Line text in Planning Pool / Sequence Planning
Text added to work centers is transferred to the Planning Pool line and Sequence Planning header/line.
To open or add text in the planning pool
- Choose the icon, enter Planning Pool, and then choose the related link.
- Select a sequence work center line where the text is or needs to be added.
- On the Related menu, choose Work Ctr. > Line Texts to open the Text Module Card or the Text Module List page.
- If the Text Module List page opens, choose the New action.
- Enter the language code or turn on the All Languages toggle.
- Enter a description of the text.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose Manage > Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) on the Lines FastTab (see Text Module Line).
- To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
- In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
- In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
- Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
- In the Color field, select the color of the text.
- Fill in the Print Mgt. Code as needed.
- Fill in additional lines as needed.
- Choose the Close button.
To open or add text in sequence planning header (work center)
- Choose the icon, enter Sequence Planning, and then choose the related link.
- In the General FastTab, select the work center where the text is or needs to be added.
- On the Related menu, choose Work Ctr. > Text Module to open the Text Module Card or the Text Module List page.
- If the Text Module List page opens, choose the New action.
- Enter the language code or turn on the All Languages toggle.
- Enter a description of the text.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose Manage > Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) on the Lines FastTab (see Text Module Line).

- On the Lines FastTab, choose Line > Line Texts to open the Edit Text page.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose the Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) action (see Text Module Line).
- To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
- In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
- In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
- Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
- In the Color field, select the color of the text.
- Fill in the Print Mgt. Code as needed.
- Fill in additional lines as needed.
- Choose the Close button.
Line text in Maintenance Templates, Orders, Archives, and Report
Text added to maintenance templates is transferred to the maintenance orders and from maintenance orders to the maintenance order archive and maintenance order report.
To open or add text in maintenance template header and lines
- Choose the icon, enter Maintenance Templates, and then choose the related link.
- Create a maintenance template or open an existing one.
- On the Related menu, choose Order > Header Texts.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose the Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) action (see Text Module Line).
- To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
- In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
- In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
- Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
- In the Color field, select the color of the text.
- Fill in the Print Mgt. Code as needed (see To print header and line text in Maintenance Order report).
- Fill in additional lines as needed.
- Choose the Close button.
- Select the line where the text is or needs to be added.
- On the Lines FastTab, choose Line > Line Texts.
- Repeat steps 4-8 to add or view the text in the line.
The header and line text will transfer to the maintenance orders created from the template.
To open or add text in maintenance order header and lines
- Choose the icon, enter Maintenance Orders, and then choose the related link.
- Create a maintenance order or open an existing one.
- On the Related menu, choose Order > Header Texts.
- To use the Rich Text Editor, choose the Rich Text Editor or Rich Text Editor (Line Conversion) action (see Text Module Line).
- To add text without using the Rich Text Editor:
- In the Text field, enter the relevant text.
- In the Language Code field, enter the language for the text if necessary.
- Select the Italic, Bold, or Underline checkbox to add formatting.
- In the Color field, select the color of the text.
- Fill in the Print Mgt. Code as needed (see To print header and line text in Maintenance Order report).
- Fill in additional lines as needed.
- Choose the Close button.
- Select the line where the text is or needs to be added.
- On the Lines FastTab, choose Line > Line Texts.
- Repeat steps 4-8 to add or view the text in the line.
The header and line text will transfer to the maintenance order archive created from the order.
To print header and line text in Maintenance Order report
- Ensure that the Maintenance Order report (ID 5396103) has been set up in the Text Module Print Management page.
- Ensure that the corresponding code has been assigned in the Print Mgt. Code field for the header or line text as indicated in step 6 in the above processes.
- On the Maintenance Order, choose the Print action.
