There are four main steps of setting up for a rebate or royalty.
Rebate/Royalty Calculation Basis Setup
The basic settings for the rebate/royalty calculation basis are defined on the Commission Setup page. Here it can be decided to which basis the rebate/royalty is referring to, in other words, if discounts are taken into consideration for the rebate/royalty calculation basis. For more information about the fields on this page, see Commission Setup.
In the Commission Recipient Card page, the recipient of the rebates/royalties can be entered. The recipient must be created with the same name as the customer. As a rebate/royalty recipient, the customer must be created on the Commission Recipient Card.
When a rebate/royalty recipient is created, the settings defined on the General FastTab of the Commission Setup page are copied to the Invoicing FastTab. If a new rebate/royalty Commission Group is created, those settings are copied to this recipient. The settings of the template can be adjusted at any time.
A rebate/royalty cannot be assigned directly to a customer.
For more information about the fields on this page, see Commission Recipients.
Customer / Rebate/Royalty Recipient Catalog
New rebate/royalty recipients must be defined on the customer. This can be done using the rebate/royalty recipient catalog. It represents the link between customers and an assigned rebate/royalty recipient.
From the customer card, the Customer Comm. Recipient Catalog page can be opened by choosing Sales > Commission Recipients on the Related menu.
For more information about this page, see Customer / Commission Recipient Catalog.
Rebate/Royalty rates are set up the same as commission rates based on quantity or amount scales. The validity can be limited for all customers, customer groups, or individual customers in combination with all items, item groups or specific items. For more information, see Commission Rates.
