Sent Messages
- How do I create a sent message?
- What are the different message statuses?
- What actions can I perform on sent messages?
Tip
Summary: Sent messages form an export history for the COSMO Data Integration Framework. This chapter provides instructions on how to create a sent message, change its status, and perform useful actions. It also explains what happens when an error occurs during the sending process.
Sent Messages form a kind of export history: COSMO Data Integration Framework creates one sent message for each Mapping Entry of a Partner Mapping.
To create a sent message
- Choose the Process and Send Message or Process action on the Partner Mapping Card page or on a sequence line.
- A Sent Message is created.
- Choose the icon, enter Sent Messages - Data Integration Framework, and then choose the related link.
Changing the message status
According to the process, the message status is changed to one of the following options:
- Created - After the Mapping is created, the Status of every message is set to Created.
- Processed - After the Mapping is processed, the Status of every message is set to Processed.
- Written - After processing, the results are written to a message as an XML file. This file contains information such as Setup Sender Code, Mapping Code to be performed, the XML Repository, and the JSON Repository. The Status is then set to Written.
- Sent / Delete - After writing, the message is mailed. Depending on the setting of the Messages without XML Repository field in the Partner Mapping, a message is sent (Status = Sent) or marked for deletion (Status = Delete), if the related XML Repository is empty.
- Error - If an error occurs during a Mapping, the Status is set to Error. The Partner Mapping must then be executed again to send all messages, finally. For example, if each Sales Order is exported in a single message and an error occurs on the fifth mapping execution, the first four messages will not be sent. If the Partner Mapping is executed again, and this time all mappings are processed without error, all messages (including the older ones) will be sent.
Useful actions
If an error occurs during the sending, use the Reset Status to Written action to generate the message again. With the Send Message action, the message is mailed to the Partner.
Generally, after processing the Partner Mapping all messages with Status = Delete are deleted automatically. Lines that were manually created using the Reset Status to Written or Send Message actions must be deleted manually.
On the Actions menu, the Delete All Messages (Setup) action can be used to remove all messages with Status = Sent according to the setup. Additionally, the XML message, the XML repository, and the JSON repository can be displayed for each message using the Show Message XML File action.
