Project and Job Structure
COSMO Project Construction provides a special hierarchy of jobs. At the very top – the main job – is called a Construction Project. From there, Jobs are created which are sub-jobs of the project. The Job Type defines the Structure Type of the job:
- Bill of Quantities (BoQ) – includes the calculation and the sales positions. It is also used for invoicing.
- Process and Controlling (PaC) – includes all planning components. All costs (Purchasing, Job Times, etc.) need to be posted to this Job.
- Placing Unit (PU) – similar to PaC except used for handling subcontracting cost and purchase-related processing as well as calculations without sales revenue posting.
The relation between BoQ and PaC jobs can be m:n but most times it is n:1 or even 1:1. The jobs must be allocated from PaC to BoQ, but the job lines could be allocated from PaC to BoQ. While using standard process functionalities, these allocations are done automatically in the background.
The relation between BoQ and PU can be n:1. The jobs must be allocated from PU to BoQ. While using standard process functionalities, these allocations are done automatically in the background.
The following table describes a sequence of tasks, with links to the topics that describe them.
