Catalog Item Raw Materials
If catalog items with raw material entries are transferred to items, the raw material entries are transferred to item alloy weight entries.
Catalog items with raw materials used in the Job Budget Calculations create alloy surcharge lines in the same way as for items. A mapping between raw material types and alloy types is necessary and, therefore, available in the Alloy Types page.
Alloy Types
Alloy Types are user-defined, even though they typically match the code used in the Periodic Table of Elements. To ensure that the alloy types are mapped correctly to the raw materials from the catalog items, enter the corresponding code in the Raw Material Type field in the Alloy Types page.
Catalog Items
In the Catalog Item Card page, raw materials are added by choosing the Raw Materials action in the Related menu.
Create item with alloy weights from catalog item
- On the Catalog Item Card page, choose Functions > Create Item on the Action menu.
- On the Related menu, choose Catalog Item > Item List to open the new item.
- On the Items list, choose Item > Alloy Weights from the Actions menu.
The same values from the Catalog Item Raw Materials are in the Item Alloy Weights page.
Calculate alloy surcharges based on catalog items
Catalog items that have not be set up with an actual item can be used to calculate alloy surcharges.
When a catalog item with raw materials is added to a Job Budget Calculation, the raw material values are used to calculate the expected alloy price/amount, as visible in the Alloy Surcharges Lines page, which are created based on the raw materials from the catalog item.
