A6) Convert Refined Repair Quote into Existing Service Order (No New Order)

The purpose of this section is to commit the approved repair scope by moving (merging) the background Service Quote lines onto the current Service Order. No new Service Order is created; the existing order is enriched.

    Prerequisites

    • Customer approval recorded (internal status / comment / attachment).
    • Spare Part Actions on the quote lines finalized (Component Replaced / Installed / Repaired).
    • Analysis Production Order line (cost collector) remains on the Service Order.

    Steps

    1. From the Service Order header drill down the linked Service Quote No. (FlowField) OR search and open the quote.
    2. Review lines (quantities, actions, pricing, discounts).
    3. On the Home menu, choose the Make Order action.
    4. In the confirmation dialog, the system detects the originating Service Order. Choose the Yes button to confirm the conversion.
    5. System merges quote lines into the Service Item Worksheet of the original Service Order:
      • Only new repair scope lines are added.
      • The Analysis Production Order Service Line is retained.
      • No new Service Order No. is generated.
    6. Re-open the Service Item Worksheet on the Service Order and validate:
      • Lines appear with correct Spare Part Action (DM).
      • Pricing frozen (further changes should follow controlled approval policy).

    System Behavior

    • Quote status set to Converted (cannot re-convert).
    • Reservations from the return are unaffected.
    • No postings occur yet; this is structural/definition only.

    Edge Cases / Notes

    • To adjust scope after conversion: add/remove lines directly on Service Item Worksheet (requires internal re-approval).
    • If conversion was done prematurely, you can manually delete added lines and (if needed) copy the quote back for comparison (the original quote document remains for audit).
    • Do NOT create a second Service Order for the same physical repair; this breaks cost and BOM update logic.

With the merged scope on the Service Order you can now create the execution Construction Order.
