Planning Extension Setup
On the Planning Extension Setup page, general settings for using resource scheduling are defined on the Mfg. Resource Scheduling FastTab.
The fields on this FastTab are described in the following table.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Min. Cap. Res. Need in Minutes | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central calculates the resource capacity need to the second. Resource capacity need of a production order routing can therefore be calculated for a few seconds or minutes. In many scenarios, such small demand is not relevant for scheduling, especially not for shift scheduling. This field defines a minimum value for the scheduling-relevant capacity need. Calculated resource capacity needs that are below this value are not considered. |
Def. Shift Specification Code | Defines the start and end times for the shifts within a day that are visualized in the Prod. Order Resource Need Matrix, Prod. Order Resource Coverage Matrix, and Prod. Order Resource Plan Matrix pages. This default shift specification is used if a shift specification has not been assigned in the User Setup page to the logged-on user. For more information, see Shift Specifications. |
Suggest Autom. Resource Allocation | Resource assignment can be performed automatically. This assignment is based on an algorithm that allocates the available and appropriately qualified resources according to resource capacity need. Turn on this toggle to automatically turn on the Allocate Resources Automatically toggle in the: - Planning Worksheet: Carry Out Action Messages function - Sequence Planning: Schedule and Priority Planning functions - Production Orders: Refresh Production Order and Replan functions This setting in these functions can be changed as needed for individual processes. For more information, see Allocate Resources to Prod. Order Operations. |
Empty Res. Planning Group Code | Defines resources in a shift that are not assigned to a Resource Planning Group. Used with the Resource Shift Schedule. For more information, see Resource Planning Groups. |
