Job Types
Job Types are used to create logical classifications among jobs. Each Job Type can have a specific number series, default dimension and posting group attached. The Job Types page shows all available job types.
To create Job Types
- Choose the
icon, enter Job Types, and then choose the related link. - Choose the Job List action to view all jobs with the selected Job Type.
- Choose the Setup action, to add job types.
- On the Job Types Setup page, choose the New action.
- Fill in or update the fields as described in the following tables.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Code | Unique identifier for the job type. |
| Description | Short description of the job type. |
| Default Status | Indicates the status that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Job is created with this Job Type. |
| Job Nos. | Number series to be used for this Job Type. |
| Default Sales Code | Indicates the Sales Code that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Job is created with this Job Type. |
| Procurement Planning Required | Determines if the planning and release of a procurement process is mandatory for this Job Type. The value in this field defaults to the Project Card when the Job Type is entered. |
| Default Job Posting Group | Indicates the Project Posting Group that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Job is created with this Job Type. |
| Default Dimension Value | Indicates the job type dimension value that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Job is created with this Job Type. |
| Default Unit Price Base | Indicates the Unit Price Base that will be defaulted to the Project Card each time a Job is created with this Job Type. |
| Default QC Template | Indicates the QC Test List for the Job that will be created each time a Job is created with this Job Type. For more information, see QC Templates. |
| List Sorting | Enables a logical sorting of Job Types but overrides alphabetical sorting. For example, entering a 1 means that it will be shown first in the list. |
| Job Type when Order | Job Type to be changed to on the Project Card when a job is converted from a quote into an order. |
