Project Card
In this section, the elements of the Project Card (formerly Job Card) are described.
General FastTab
The General FastTab contains basic information about the job, including the customer, job type and status, persons responsible, and job links. The fields on this FastTab are described in the following table.

Choosing this option means that no usage or sale can be posted on the job. - All: All actions are blocked. That means no usage or sale can be posted on the job and the job no. cannot be entered in any document such as purchase order, time entry, inventory request, and so on. |

Posting FastTab
The Posting FastTab contains the information relevant for invoicing the job. The fields on this FastTab are described in the following table.

The options are: - Planning - Quote - Open: allows posting to the job - Completed: prevent posting to the job NOTE: Completed jobs are accessible using Tell Me. Completion Reason Code | Indicates the reason for which the Status has been set to Completed. |
Project Posting Group | Determines which G/L accounts are used in posting processes. The default setup in the Projects Setup page is defaulted in but can be changed. |

Cashflow Pmt. Code | Defaults from the Cash Flow Pmt. Code field in the Projects Setup page but can be changed as needed. |

Project Code | Assigned to the job based on the Job Dimension (PROJECT) on the Job FastTab of the Projects Setup page. The Autom. Job Dimension options are: - Job No.: Project code is created with the job number. - Main Job No.: Project code from the main job is used. |

Invoice and Shipping
The Invoice and Shipping FastTab contains the billing and shipping information relevant for invoicing the job. The fields on this FastTab are described in the following table.

Duration FastTab
The fields on the Duration FastTab indicate the length of the job and creation date.
Planning FastTab
Most of the information on the Planning FastTab defaults in from the settings specified on the Projects Setup page. The fields on this FastTab are described in the following table.

Foreign Trade FastTab
The fields on the Foreign Trade FastTab are used for job calculation in foreign currencies.
The Invoice Currency Code field is used to define alternative currencies for sales (see Calculation with Currencies). The other fields are standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central; refer to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Help for more information about these fields.
WIP and Recognition FastTab
The fields on the WIP and Recognition FastTab are used for the valuation of a job. The desired WIP Method and Realized % can be selected here; all other fields show calculated values from the various views. For more information about WIP processing, see Job Evaluation.

Actual Total Price (LCY) | Sum of the Total Price Posted (LCY) fields for all lines in the Job WIP page. |

Actual Total Profit (LCY) | Difference between the calculated values in the Total Price Posted (LCY) and the Total Cost Usage SP (LCY) fields. |
WIP Basis | Defaults from the Job FastTab of the Projects Setup page. For detailed descriptions of each WIP Basis, see WIP Basis. |
WIP Method | Determines how WIP is calculated. The options are Cost Value, Sales Value, Cost of Sales, Percentage of Completion, and Completed Contract. For detailed descriptions of each WIP Method, see WIP Methods. |
WIP Transfer | Determines in which job WIP is calculated; works only with WIP Basis = Job. |
Last WIP Date | Indicates the last date on which WIP was calculated. |
WIP Amount (LCY) | Displays the calculated WIP amount (in local currency) between the last and the current WIP date. |
Impending Losses (LCY) | Displays the calculated amount (in local currency) for pending losses between the last and the current WIP date. |
Prospective Cost (LCY) | Displays the calculated amount (in local currency) for future expenses between the last and the current WIP date. |
Cost of Sales (LCY) | Displays the calculated amount (in local currency) for revenue-based WIP (see the WIP Revenue-Based (LCY) field in the Job Line WIP Entries page). |
WIP Inv. Sales Amount (LCY) | Displays the calculated WIP amount (in local currency) for all posted sales values when using WIP Method = Completed Contract. For more information, see Completed Contract. |
WIP Not Posted | Indicates if a calculated job value has not been posted (Finance). |
Controlling FastTab
The Controlling FastTab displays all indicators of the job in one place. Indicators for instance are Order Value, Invoice Amount, Actual Cost, Expected Internal Cost, Purchase Commitments, and the calculated Total Profit in percent and local currency. These values are also saved with a job version.

Action Bar
The action bar includes menus that contain actions specific to COSMO Project Manufacturing. The actions in each menu are described in this section.
Home Menu
This section describes the most relevant actions on the Home menu; each is described in more detail in other sections.
Budget Calculation
This action opens the Job Budget Calculation page, which is used to create the job structure and calculation, and is the basis for creating a job offer. For more information, see Calculation and Budgeting.
Planning and Processing
This action opens the Job Planning and Processing page, which focuses on all operative processes for planning, purchasing and project delivery. It is not possible to do a calculation here but all calculation-related fields can be displayed. For more information, see Job Processing.
Sale
This action opens the Job Budget Sales page, which shows only sales positions that are associated with a Sales Code. This page is used to review and initialize invoicing. For more information, see Invoicing.
Rolling Calculation
This action opens the Job Rolling Calculation page, which includes the most important sums during a job cycle. It is used for permanent job controlling.
WIP
This action opens the Job WIP page, which shows the information and batch operations necessary for project evaluation. For more information, see Job Evaluation.
Job Charges
This action opens the Job Charges page, where the following charges/discounts are defined for the job:
- Purchasing charges (Indirect Cost %)
- Surplus charges (Extra Charge %)
Job-specific Charges can be entered manually in the top section of the page. Default Job Charges (from base setup) are displayed in the Default Charges FastTab to provide an immediate reference to the standard charges. The default charges can also be viewed in a separate page by choosing the Default Charges action. It is not possible to make changes to the default Job Charges in either view.
It is also possible to copy the default Job Charges to Job-specific Charges. Choose the Copy Default Charges action to copy all default charges to the Job-specific charges. If entries exist, a message will open asking you to confirm the deletion/replacement of existing entries with standard charges.
Choose the Yes button to replace existing charges with default charges, or the No button to cancel the copy process.
Create Sub-Job
This action opens a dialog box, which asks if you want to create a sub-job for the job. For more information, see Project Card (Main and Sub Jobs).
Prices & Discounts Menu
This section describes the actions on the Prices & Discounts menu, which are different depending on which sales pricing experience is used.
New Sales Pricing Experience
If the New sales pricing experience feature update has been enabled in Feature Management in Business Central 16.00 (or later), then the standard Business Central price lists are available:
- Sales Price Lists
- Sales Prices
- Purchase Price Lists
- Purchase Prices
- Sales Discounts
- Purchase Discounts

Note
Existing Job Purchase Prices and Discounts are transferred to the price lists when the Transfer Job Purchase Prices and Discounts action is run from the Projects Setup page.
Current Sales Pricing Experience
If the New sales pricing experience feature update has not been enabled, then the following actions are available:
- Resource - opens the Job Resource Prices page, where job-specific pricing/discounts are defined for resources (persons or groups).
- Item - opens the Job Item Prices page, where job-specific pricing/discounts are defined for Items.
Traveling Expenses
The Traveling Expenses action is used with either pricing experience and opens the Job Traveling Expenses page, where the job-related costs/prices are defined for travel expenses. For more information, see Traveling Expenses.
Project Menu
This section describes the most relevant actions on the Project menu.
Dimensions
This action opens the Default Dimensions page, which displays the default dimensions assigned to this job.
Ledger Entries
This action opens the Project Ledger Entries page, which is used to view all the ledger entries for a job. Posting to jobs always creates project ledger entries. The entries are either debits or credits depending on whether they increase your costs or represent sales to a customer.
Job Journals and Purchase Receipts/Invoices/Credit Memos create Usage entries, Sales Invoices/Credit Memos create Sales entries, and Job Shipments create Job Shipment entries.
The fields related to COSMO Project Manufacturing which provide better transparency of item purchases in projects are described in the following table.

Total Direct Cost (LCY) | Specifies the Total Direct Cost (in local currency). |
Indirect Cost (LCY) | Specifies the amount of Indirect Cost that is calculated based on the Indirect Cost % and the Total Direct Cost (LCY) fields. |
Item Charge Amount | Specifies the amount of Item Charges which have been posted with the item in the line. This field is only updated with the Update Project Item Cost batch job. |
Cost Amount (Expected) | Specifies the expected item cost of the quantity posting which is not yet invoiced. This is a calculated field (FlowField). |
Invoiced Quantity (Purchase) | Specifies how many units of the item on the line have been invoiced. |
On the Actions menu, choose Functions > De- / Activate WIP to change the Activatable WIP field for selected ledger entries. This is used if one single transaction or ledger entry is not applicable to be recognized for WIP.
Contacts
This action opens the Job Contacts page, which is used to assign additional contacts to the job.
For sorting purposes, contacts can be moved once added to the page by choosing Move > Up or Down on the Actions menu.
With the integration to standard Sales & Marketing, all relevant functions within the application can be used for project management purposes, thus providing the ability to:
Track and monitor sales progress
Create to-dos and calendar appointments, including:
- Planning deadlines
- Task management
- Documenting activity work breakdown structures
- Integration with Microsoft Outlook
Log activities (interactions) related to a Job and Main Job
The Role field is used to manage several shipment addresses for Shipment Planning and Job Shipments. Additionally, it provides the flexibility to manage and categorize project addresses. In the Role field, choose the drop-down arrow to open the list of job contact roles. Choose Select from full list to open the Job Contact Roles page. Assign a code and description and then in the Function field, choose the drop-down arrow to specify the function of each Role. The options are Sell-to Customer, Bill-to Customer, Project Manager, Ship-to Address, and Subcontractor.
The purpose of assigning a function is to filter on Shipment Addresses from the Shipment Contact No. field in each applicable table, such as Job or Job Shipment. This means that Job Contacts must be entered before a Shipment Contact No. can be selected in the corresponding field.
Job Team
This action opens the Job Team page. The employees or resource groups assigned in this page are used later in the budgeting and planning stages.
Since responsibilities are generally assigned to both the project and the job WBS positions, COSMO Project Manufacturing provides the following two fields on the Project Card:
- Person Responsible
- Person Responsible 2
The resources entered in these fields are automatically transferred to the Job Team with the resource assigned to the Person Responsible field identified as the Responsible individual. Additional team members can be assigned in the Job Team page.
Planning resources can be single persons as well as resource groups. Each can be added manually on the lines or by these actions on the action bar:
- Get new group members – Opens the Resource Groups page, from where all resources of the selected resource group can be added to the selected job team.
- Person to job – Opens the Resources page, from where resources can be added to the selected job team.
- Group to job – Opens the Resource Groups page, from where resource groups can be added to the selected job team.
For more transparency of responsibilities and job assignments, the planning resources can be individually assigned to each job line or hierarchical level (see Capacity and Resource Planning).
Interaction Log Entries
This action opens the Interaction Log Entries page, which lists all interactions that have been created for this job. For more information about using Interactions with COSMO Project Manufacturing, see the note in Sales Documents and for general information refer to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Help.
Navigate Menu
This section describes the relevant actions on the Navigate menu.
Job Documents
This action opens the Job Documents page, which displays all documents relating to a job. For more information, see Order Network.
Equipment Entries
This action opens the Equipment Entries page, where reserved or issued equipment entries are stored for the job. For more information, see Reserve and Issue Equipment.
Graphical Resource Planning
This action opens the Graphical Resource Planning page, where you can perform resource planning using a visualized planning tool. For more information, see Graphical Project Resource Planning.
Graphical Project Planning
This action opens the Graphical Project Planning page, where you can perform project planning using a visualized planning tool. For more information, see Graphical Project Planning.
Actions Menu
The actions on the Actions menu are described in the following table.

Copy Job | Opens the Copy Job dialog box, which copies specific job information to a new job. |
Save Version | Opens a dialog box, which asks if you want to create a new version for the job (see Versions). When this function is run, no description is added in the Versions page but one can be added manually. |
Add QC Test | Opens the QC Template List page, which is used with the QC Templates from the COSMO Process Manufacturing integration (see Integration of COSMO Process Manufacturing). NOTE: QC functionality can be used with or without the integration to COSMO Process Manufacturing. |
Refresh Production Costs | Manually updates the values in the production costs fields on the Controlling FastTab. Considers both Released and Finished Productions Orders and takes the Actual Cost from the Production Order Statistics page. |
Archive Project | Standard BC action, not applicable to COSMO Project Management. |
Related Menu
The Related menu includes three menus that contain actions specific to COSMO Project Manufacturing. The actions in these menus are described in this section.
Project Menu
This section describes the most relevant actions on the Project menu.
Comments and Documents
This action opens the Job Comment Lines page, which is used to record unstructured data, such as user-specific comments. In addition, documents relating to the comment information can be attached using the standard Links functionality.
Job Comments can be added to the Item Card, Service Card, and Other Services Card. These comments will then be copied to the appropriate job view when the component is selected in the Job Budget Calculation page. The Comment Type field determines where the comment is displayed. The options are General, Rough Concept, Detailed Concept, Processing, Support, Purchase, Sale, and Long Text.
Versions
This action opens the Versions page, which displays non-editable copies of the job. Each new job is set as a first version.
A new version can be created from the Project Card by choosing Functions > Save Version on the Actions menu. In addition, each time the Job status changes, COSMO Project Manufacturing can be set up to ask whether the current version is to be saved.
The Versions page can be accessed from the Project Card by choosing Project > Versions on the Related menu.
Choose the Project Card action to open the Version Job card. The Version Job card contains most of the same information as the Project Card as of the moment the Version is created.
Choose the Budget Calculation action to open the Version Job Budget Calculation page, which is similar in structure and style to the Job Budget Calculation. Additional fields in the Version Job Budget Calculation page can be used to compare the version Quantity, Total Cost Budget, and Sales Line Amount Budget with the current values of the Budget Calculation.
The version quantity, cost, and sales line amounts can be different from the current values in the Job Budget Calculation. The changed values are displayed in red italics to help quickly identify any differences between version and current budget values.
Milestones
This action opens the Job Milestones page, which displays all positions that have been set up as milestones. For more information, see Processing with Milestones.
Guarantees
This action opens the Guarantee List page, which displays all guarantees relating to the job.
QC Test List
This action opens the QC Test List page, which displays QC Tests that have been assigned to the job. For more information, see COSMO Process Manufacturing.
Calculation
This action opens the Calculations page, which displays any existing calculations and from where new calculations can be added. For more information, see Integration of COSMO Calculation.
Text Module Header / Text Module Footer
If you have the integration with Advanced Manufacturing Suite (AMS), the Header Texts and Footer Texts actions are available. For more information, see COSMO Text Module.
Purchase Prices Menu
The actions on the Purchase Prices menu are described in this section.

Item Purchase Prices
This action opens the Job Purchase Prices page, which is used to create job-specific item purchase prices for use in the Job Budget Calculation. For more information, see Job-Specific Purchase Conditions.

Item Purchase Discounts
This action opens the Job Purchase Discounts page, which is used to create job-specific item purchase discounts for use in the Job Budget Calculation. For more information, see Job-Specific Purchase Conditions.

MS Project Menu
The actions on the MS Project menu are used with the Microsoft Project integration. For more information about setting up these actions, see Microsoft Project Integration.
Planning and Processing
The following actions on the Planning and Processing menu provide direct access to the "Per Block" views from the Job Planning and Processing page:
- Process Planning, opens the Planning Processes page.
- Procurement Planning, opens the Job Processing Procurement page.
- Shipment Planning, opens the Job Processing Shipment Plan page.
- Invoice Planning, opens the Job Processing Invoicing page.

FactBoxes
The Project Card includes these COSMO Project Manufacturing-specific (or modified) FactBoxes:
- Job Comment Lines – displays all comments assigned to the job.
- Power BI – displays Power BI reports if shown using the Personalize function.
- Job Documents – displays the number of unposted documents (Purchase, Sales, Production, Warehouse) that are linked to the current job.
- Job History - No. of Posted Documents – displays the number of posted documents (Purchase, Sales, and Job Shipments) linked to the current job.
- Project Details - No. of Prices – displays the number of prices that exist for resources, items, and G/L accounts.
- Project Details - WIP/Recognition – displays actual price/cost for the job and WIP information if shown using the Personalize function.
- Project Details - standard BC, not applicable for COSMO Project Manufacturing.
