Capacities
This section provides an overview of work centers and sequence work centers.
Work Center
A work center comprises a number of machine centers.
To activate a work center for use within the Sequence Planning, the Work Center Type field must be set to Sequence Planning on the General FastTab on the Work Center Card.
After selecting this option, a corresponding Sequence Work Center Card is automatically created. Only data records with this setup are considered within the Sequence Planning (see Sequence Planning).
Work Center Production Rates can be viewed from this page (see Work Center Production Rates).
Additional data is entered for work centers that are used for accounting and calculations. Work centers can also represent production capacities. Refer to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Help for more information about creating work centers.
Sequence Work Centers
The sequence of the work centers is stored in the Sequence Work Center Card, which has generally the same functions as the Work Center Card.
If a Sequence Work Center is created manually, a Work Center Card is automatically created. A Sequence Work Center is only created from a Work Center if the Work Center Type field is set to Sequence Planning.
Data entered in the sequence work center card is automatically identified for Sequence Planning.
Work Center Production Rates can be viewed from this page (see Work Center Production Rates).
For more information about the Rescheduling and Scheduling Required fields on the Scheduling FastTab, see Manual Rescheduling of Sequence Planning.
