Create and Release Sales Orders
In this section, a Sales Quote is converted into a Sales Order and then the Rolling Calculation is reviewed.
Convert a Sales Quote into a Sales Order
When a quote has been accepted, it can be converted into a sales order. Prior to converting the Sales Quote, additional updates can be performed directly on the Sales Quote.
- Choose the icon, enter Projects, and then choose the related link.
- Locate and open the job for which the document is to be viewed.
- On the Home menu, choose the Budget Calculation action.
- Select the Sales Quote line to be converted into a Sales Order.
- On the Related menu, choose Line > Sales Quote.
- Ensure the information is correct and/or update with any changes.
- On the Home menu, choose the Make Order action.
- Choose the Yes button to convert the quote into an order. During this process, a message opens if COSMO Project Manufacturing detects any differences between the quote and linked Job Budget Calculation lines.
- Choose the Yes button to modify the job lines.
- Depending on setup, a message opens asking to change the job status; choose the Yes or No button depending on business processes.
- A message opens with the converted order number; choose the No button to the message asking to open the new order.
- The Sales Quote page closes and returns to the Job Budget Calculation.
The Sales Order(s) must be released to control confirmed sales order values in the Job Rolling Calculation page. Specific entries with the released sales sums will be created using the release functionality. These entries are saved with the sales order date. The details of the released sales orders will be used for the WIP calculation; they can be limited by date. The specific entries are automatically deleted when the sales order is reopened.
When deleting the Sales Order, you have the option to decide if the sums should remain.
Rolling Calculation after Confirmed Sales Orders
After Sales Orders are released, the confirmed values are displayed in the Total Price Released (LCY) field on the Job Rolling Calculation page.
