Role Centers
COSMO Advanced Manufacturing Pack includes the following Role Center pages that have been set up as Profiles (Roles):

The profiles and corresponding Role Centers provide the most efficient COSMO Advanced Manufacturing Pack user experience and can be assigned to users or chosen by users.
Role Center Descriptions
This section describes the Role Centers included or extended with COSMO Advanced Manufacturing Pack.
Configure to Order Design Engineer
This Role Center focuses on working in the COSMO Discrete Manufacturing environment. It provides quick access to master data and posted documents as well as sales, construction, and production tasks and documents. In addition, there are actions for creating and/or opening master data or setup data. This Role Center also includes the following parts:
- The Activities part has cues that show information about non-released and released Construction Orders, Construction Inquiries, Production Orders, and Work Packages. These cues provide a visual count as well as quick access to filtered lists.
- The Insights part has three sections:
- The My Customers part includes actions (from the drop-down arrow) to add, manage and remove customers from the list as well as directly open customer cards.
- The My Vendors part includes actions (from the drop-down arrow) to add, manage and remove vendors from the list as well as directly open vendor cards.
- The My Items part includes actions (from the drop-down arrow) to add, manage and remove items from the list as well as directly open item cards.
Manufacturing Manager
This is a standard Business Central Role Center that has been extended to include activities used in the COSMO Process Manufacturing environment. In addition to the standard, it provides quick access to master data in Product Design, Capacities, Planning, Resource Planning, and Calculations (if activated). In addition, there are actions for creating Production Structures and opening PM-related tasks and setup data. This Role Center also includes the following parts:
- The Activities part includes Design cues that show information about Production Structures. These cues provide a visual count as well as quick access to filtered lists. Additionally, the second Activities part provides quick access to the Prod. Order - Job Card report (from the drop-down arrow).
- The Insights part has the My Items part, which includes actions (from the drop-down arrow) to add, manage and remove items from the list as well as directly open item cards.
Note
Ensure that the Process Manufacturing and Planning Extension modules are enabled in the Product Configuration Card for the PRODUCTION PLANNER profile.
The Manufacturing Manager Role Center replaces the outdated Production Planner PM Role Center.
Project Administrator COSMO Project
This Role Center provides administrative access to the Explore all menu and cannot be assigned to a user as a daily role.
Project Manager COSMO Project
This Role Center focuses on project manager activities in COSMO Project Manufacturing. It provides quick access to master data, journals, and posted documents as well as sales, purchase, procurement, and production tasks and documents. In addition, there are actions for opening planning- and processing-related pages or running periodic activities. The Role Center also includes the following parts:
- The Activities part has cues that show information about Jobs, WIP, Planning, Procurement, Shipment, Invoicing, and Equipment. This part also includes actions for setup as well as Shipment and Invoicing tasks.
- The Self-Service part has cues for time sheets.
- The Insights part has three sections:
- The My Jobs part includes actions (from the drop-down arrow) to add, manage and remove jobs from the list, open job cards, or directly open the Job Budget Calculation page, Job Planning and Processing page, or Job Budget Sales page for the selected Job.
- The Job Profitability part displays the job profitability chart for jobs listed in the My Jobs part. The chart can be set as Column, Line, Stacked Column, or Stacked Area.
- The Power BI Report part allows you to add Power BI reports to the Role Center. For more information about the Power BI integration, see Power BI Integration Component and Architecture Overview for Business Central in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Help.
Equipment Manager COSMO Project
This Role Center focuses on equipment management activities in COSMO Project Manufacturing. It provides quick access to master data, including Persons and Equipment, as well as to the Equipment Issuance page. The Role Center also includes the following parts:
- The Activities part has cues that show information about reserved, issued, and due equipment as well as upcoming appointments.
- The Self-Service part has cues for time sheets.
- The Insights part has the same Power BI Report part described in the Project Manager COSMO Project section.
Project Sales COSMO Project
This Role Center focuses on sales activities in COSMO Project Manufacturing. It provides quick access to master data, journals, and posted documents as well as opportunities and sales documents. The Role Center also includes the following parts:
- The Activities part has cues that show information about Jobs and Order Processing. This part also includes actions for creating contacts, opening the Customers list, and setting up Job Types.
- The Insights part has the same My Jobs and Power BI Report parts described in the Project Manager COSMO Project section.
Project Staff COSMO Project
This Role Center focuses on planning and procurement activities in COSMO Project Manufacturing. It provides quick access to master data, journals, and posted documents as well as planning and procurement tasks and documents. The Role Center also includes the following parts:
- The Activities part has cues that show information about Jobs, Planning, Procurement, Shipment, and Equipment. This part also includes actions for new Inventory Requests and Job Shipments.
- The Self-Service part has cues for time sheets.
- The Insights part has the same My Jobs and Power BI Report parts described in the Project Manager COSMO Project section.
Assign Profiles/Role Centers
Role Centers can be assigned directly to users or users can choose their Role Center using My Settings.
To assign a profile to user settings
A profile can be assigned to each user in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central through the User Settings Card.
- Choose the icon, enter User Settings, and then choose the related link.
- Locate the user to assign a profile.
- In the Role field, enter one of the roles described above.
To assign this role center in My Settings
Alternatively, users can select role centers in My Settings.
- Choose the icon and then select My Settings from the menu. Alternatively, you can use the Tell Me feature.
- In the Role field, choose the ellipsis button.
- In the Available Roles page, select one of the roles described above and then choose the OK button.
- Choose the OK button to close the My Settings page and save your changes.
Integrations
Integrations between these products as well as to COSMO Calculation and COSMO Purchase Quotes Manager can be activated via the Product Configuration tool.
