Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked
The Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked view is an additional graphical scheduler that visualizes all production orders of a work center on a single line. The general processes from the Graphical Sequence Planning view are the same except capacity load on work centers is not visualized.
Access Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked functionality using the Tell Me feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Choose the icon, enter the page name, and then choose the related link. It can also be accessed from the Planning menu on the Manufacturing Manager Role Center.
Navigation
As a graphical interface that shows production information, the Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked page allows you to quickly change to different dates and time periods, search for specific resources or tasks, change the appearance of the page, and of course, view the production information using a Gantt chart.
This section provides an overview of how to navigate this page, change settings, and so on.
Go to Date
The Go to Date field allows you to move to a specific date in the chart.
Zoom to ...
Just below the Go to Date field is the Zoom to ... drop-down, which allows you to change the view to different time periods. The options are Month, Week, Day, Half Day, Hour, Half Hour, and Minute.
Search through Tasks
Next you can search through sequence work centers or production orders. This is a free text field so you can enter full or partial names of sequence work centers or production orders and then press Enter or choose the Search button to find all sequence work centers or tasks with the search criteria. The filtered entries can be cleared by choosing the Clear button.
Searched tasks can be set with a special color in the Selection Color field in the Sequence Planning FastTab on the Graphical Extension Setup page. A searched task will be shown in this color until the search is cleared. Once cleared, the task reverts to its original color.
Chart Layout
The left pane shows the work center groups and sequence work center (aqua = needs to be rescheduled) and the right pane shows the related scheduled production orders (colors can be used to differentiate between standard orders and those with notifications).
For information about working in the Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked page, see Usage.
Context Menus
On both sides of the chart, context menus can be opened to provide additional information about the sequence work center or production order. Tap and hold (or right-click) the sequence work center or production order to open the context menu.

Tooltips
To view a tooltip for a work center or production order, tap (or hover over) an entry.
Chart Changes
The bottom of the page contains controls that allow you to change the appearance of the chart.
Control | Description |
---|---|
Expand/Collapse all rows | The first two icons allow you to either Expand all rows or Collapse all rows in the left pane of the chart. |
Zoom In/Zoom Out/Zoom to fit into page | The third and fourth icons allow you to zoom into or out of the time periods in the right pane of the chart. The fifth icon allows you reset to a month view that will fit into the page. |
Displays menu to choose visible columns | The sixth icon allows you to add columns to the chart area. This is especially useful because you can add Start and End Times for the production orders, as well as other production-related information. |
Language | The Language drop-down allows you to change the information on the pages to English, German, French, Spanish, and Hungarian. |
Style | The Style drop-down allows you to change the color of the chart area, including text, as well as the control icons at the bottom of the page. NOTE: The custom option works with the TreeGrid CSS defined with EJS TreeGrid 16.1.2. |

Usage
The purpose of the Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked page is to provide an overview of the sequence work centers as well as the scheduling of their related production orders visualized in a single line. You can perform many of the same processes in this view as you can in the Sequence Planning page using the actions noted in Context Menus.
Sequence Work Centers
The left pane shows the work center groups and related sequence work centers. Work centers that need to be rescheduled are highlighted in aqua by default (this color can be changed in the Graphical Extension Setup page).
Double-tapping (or double-clicking) a sequence work center opens the Graphical Prod. Capacity Planning page, which helps to resolve overloads.
Tap (or hover the cursor over) over the entries to see the numbers/names of the work center/work center group and whether scheduling is required, tap and hold (or right-click) to open the context menus.
For more information, see Graphical Prod. Capacity Planning in the COSMO Graphical Extension Help.
Production Orders
The right pane of the chart shows production orders related to the work centers, displayed on a single line based on the time frame. You can use colors to differentiate between standard production orders and those with special indicators (Standard Color and Notification Color in Graphical Extension Setup page).
Double-tapping (or double-clicking) a production order opens the Graphical Prod. Order Planning page, where you can get complete production order information about the selected order.
Tap (or hover the cursor over) the production order information to see the production order information including number, Start/End Times and Due Date of the production order, whether the production order is fixed, and the Sequence Position from the Sequence Planning line; tap and hold (or right-click) to open the context menus.
The production orders also include special icons to indicate material shortages, capacity conflicts, and resource needs. These icons are shown before the item number.
For more information, see Graphical Prod. Order Planning in the COSMO Graphical Extension Help.
Production Order Adjustments
You can move production orders either within the same work center or to a new work center directly in the Graphical Sequence Planning Stacked page to resolve conflicts or to manage materials and resources.
Moving the production orders here will adjust the sequence planning accordingly and prompt a replanning of the production order. Adjusted production orders appear as grey while processing the changes. Once the changes are processed, the production orders return to their original color.
When moving a production order to a different work center, a message opens asking to confirm the move. Afterwards, the work center color will change to aqua because it needs to be rescheduled. The changed production order is not visible for the work center until it has been rescheduled.
