Pre-Defined Variables
In the Dyn. BOM FastTab of the Configure to Order Setup page, you can use predefined variables with a special function, including:
- Variables for calculating defined values
- Variables to transfer information to the Production Order
These values are used in Checklists and Master BOMs instead of separate formula fields.
| Variable | Description |
|---|---|
| Variable for Component | Replaces placeholder in BOMs for items, resources, machine center, work center, and G/L Accounts. |
| Variable for Unit Cost | Calculates the Unit Cost field, which occurs behind the lines of the Master BOM. |
| Variable for Extended Text | Transfers text from the Checklist lines to Document BOMs and construction orders. This option is used with the integration to COSMO Text Module in Advanced Manufacturing Suite (AMS). For more information, see Variable for Extended Text. |
| Variable for Net Weight (Item) | Transfers the weight from the item to the Master BOM. |
| Variable for Specific Weight | Calculates the Weight field of a Document BOM/Construction Order. |
| Variables for Transfer to Manufacturing | Calculates the Wait Time, Move Time, Length, Width, Depth, and Weight fields and copies the values to the fields in the Production Order. For examples of these calculations, see Sub-Checklists. |
Note
The attribute values from the Configure to Order Setup are calculated exclusively within the Master BOM, not within the Production BOM.
