Partner Matrix
- How do I create a partner matrix?
- How do I use a partner matrix in mapping filters?
Tip
Summary: The Partner Matrix provides a way to select relevant records from a table for each Partner. It is used in Mapping Filters to check for the existence of a record or loop through a set of records. The key fields from the record are copied into the new fields, allowing for filtering inside a mapping.
The Partner Matrix provides an opportunity for detailed selection of relevant records for a Partner. For each Partner with the Show in Partner Matrix checkbox selected, any Record of a table can be determined as process-relevant.
Similar to the Record Pool Frequency, the check occurs during a Mapping. Record Pool Entries are created in the Partner Matrix also for Records without selection.
To create a partner matrix
- Choose the icon, enter Partner Matrix - Data Integration Framework, and then choose the related link.
- On the Partner Matrix page, fill in the fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.
First, enter the relevant table in the Table No. field. Then all records within the table are displayed below. The records for each Partner can be selected manually or using the functions on the Actions menu. The changes are applied only when the page is closed.
After re-opening the page, settings are not editable. Choose the Switch Edit action to modify settings on the Records. Turn on the Run Modify Trigger for New Selected Records toggle to determine whether each new selected Record should be called a change.
Note
The Run Modify Trigger is called for each new Record. This results in a new Record Pool Entry only if no Unprocessed Entry exists for the Record. The Trigger is still running if the Log Modification checkbox is not selected in the Record Pool Partner. All relevant Record Pools are recorded according to settings, i.e., including Filters, Fields, Partner Settings.
In addition to the settings on the Partner, the Use Partner Matrix toggle must be turned on in the Mapping Repository; otherwise, the Partner Matrix is not considered. Record Pool Entries for Records, which are not selected for an active Partner Matrix, are skipped. At the end of the Mapping, their status is set using the Unprocessed Entries field of the Record Pool.
To use a partner matrix in mapping filters
With the Mapping Filter, it is possible to filter a record and therefore check for its existence or loop through a set of records using key fields in the Partner Matrix. When saving a record in the Partner Matrix, the key field values of the record will be copied into the new fields. This makes it possible to filter inside a mapping for the configured partner matrix records. The key fields are Type = Code 20; additional characters will be cut if the value is too long.
For example, there are different Locations for the companies. According to the configuration, changes on location RED will be transferred to Company A, but not to Company B. If a user wants to check if the RED location is configured for the current partner in the mapping, they can create a Mapping Filter on the Partner Matrix table and filter for Record = Location and Code = RED. The mapping behavior can be defined based on the information if Company A or B is configured, without the need for coding.
