Order Bundles
Order bundles are special FDC Work Orders which offer the ability to combine different routing lines of orders to a bundled Work Order line. An FDC Work Order Bundle is created by choosing the Assemble Routing Lines action on the Work Order Bundle menu in the FDC Work Order page, and then selecting the desired lines. Quantities and times that were posted on the Bundle Line (also referred to as the "0-Line") will be distributed to all underlying Order Bundle lines. This is useful when the same routing lines of different orders are worked on together. The distribution occurs by the values of the fields from the work order (see Distribution).
In addition to posting to the Bundle Line, it is possible to post to the underlying Order Bundle lines.
Order Bundle lines are a copy of the original lines. Therefore, times and quantities that are captured at Order Bundle Lines are only visible on those. The origin lines do not contain any entries. With redirection, times can be transferred (see Redirection).
Automatic Order Bundles via Concurrent Beginning
The permission of concurrent beginning depends on the setting of the FDC Resource. For an automatic creation of Order Bundles, the Auto Order Bundle Creation option must be selected in the Concurrent Beginning field. Assuming all settings are set correctly, the software handles the creation of Order Bundles.
Nota
An automatic bundle creation occurs on concurrent beginning.
Selecting the Auto Order Bundle Creation option automatically combines all concurrent routing lines of an order bundle for a resource ("on-the-fly"). The distribution is influenced by the time when an operation is added to the order bundle. When the FDC Resource reports the first routing line (A) at 8:00 and the next (B) at 16:00, routing line (B) receives proportionately less time of the total time of an order bundle. Internally, this is referred to as assembly time. The distribution by assembly time has an impact in addition to the normal rules of apportionment of time and quantity. The normally applicable distribution key to be used for automatic order bundle formation depends on the standard values in accordance with the settings in the FDC Setup page.
When the FDC Resource checks out one or more (concurrently checked in) routing lines (A, B, C..), the whole Order Bundle is checked out automatically.
Importante
It is possible to check in multiple routing lines, but it is only possible to check out one routing line, because internally the entire Order Bundle is checked out. If an employee tries to check out B or C too, after checking out A, they will receive an error message because internally only one check in stays active. This check in refers to the automatically created Order Bundle (not to the routing lines). The check out of one of the routing lines (A, B, or C) means an internal check out of the Order Bundle. A label or a document referencing the automatically created Order Bundle can be printed on demand to be used as a creation indicator and for capturing the check out of the automatically created Order Bundle.
Importante
All automatically or manually created work order bundles should be unambiguous regarding the origin of the production order. If operations of different production orders with different output items are assigned to order packages, make sure that the option Enable Terminal Output Registration is disabled in the configuration of the work order, and instead an output is issued with the output message action in the FDC Terminal.
Optionally, if the Enable Terminal Output Registration option is enabled, the item number of the finished article can be left blank. In this case, the items numbers of the bundled production orders of the work order lines are directly assigned to the distribution lines of the order package.
