Process Management
The Process Management module is used to define business processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Processes (workflows) can be triggered by events, conditions, and users. Additionally, users can initiate workflows manually if needed.
A powerful condition structure enables the definition of comprehensive and complex beginning and ending criteria for the individual activities in a process. Any number of tables can be linked to build a complex condition structure.
The tasks for a process can be related to each other to build predecessor/successor relationships (required to set up a process for sequential processing). For such a process, users would only get a task if the related predecessors have already been completed.
In addition to the Field Security, the COSMO Workflow app allows fields to be protected based on a process. Such fields could only be changed by users that have a related task in their inbox. This way, modifications could be embedded in a process making sure that certain actions have been taken before the change and certain actions happen after the change.
Fields such as FlowFields can be periodically checked for certain conditions. When the pre-requisites are met, a process could be initiated, for example, sending an email to the customers whose credit limit has been exceeded.
