Summary: This chapter explains the Intercompany Table Settings page, which enables record modification for a company. It explains how to set up tables, including how to create a Master company to manage items and companies in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The Table Settings page determines if an appropriate action is allowed for any record of the table, and can be used to create a read-only setting for the user.
Table Settings enable record modification for a company.
The Intercompany Table Settings page is accessed using Tell Me. Choose the icon, enter Intercompany Table Settings - Data Integration Framework, and then choose the related link.
If a table is entered in the Table No. field, then the Block Insertion, Block Modification, Block Deletion, and Block Rename checkboxes determine if an appropriate action is allowed for any record of the table.
This feature can be used to create a Master company, which manages the items and all other companies in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with a setting for table 27 and all Blocked [...] fields selected cannot make any changes in the database. This setting only affects user modifications of a record, and not code-based modifications. Once a table is configured, it is similar to be read-only for the user. Source code (for example, Mappings) can still make changes for the company.
