Tip
Summary: This topic explains the sorting, filtering, searching, and selection functionalities in COSMO Mobile Solution. They are available in List and List and Card pages. Sorting can be predefined or adjusted in the mobile application, while filters can be created, saved, and automatically applied. The mobile application also supports quick search features and multiple record selection for performing batch actions.
In the mobile application, various page types - Headerline, List, List and Card - allow sorting, filtering, searching or selecting of displayed records.
Sorting
Sorting can be predefined in the Global Page Customization of the given page, but it can also be set individually within the application.
Important
The order set in the mobile application will sync back to the User Page Customization Sorting page, whether all conditions for communication with Business Central are met. If any changes are made in the global page customization of the given page, all individually set user-specific sorting will be overwritten.
The functionality is demonstrated through an example:
In the Global Page Customization, the list is predefined to be sorted in ascending order based on Item No.. When the list is opened in the mobile application, the records appear accordingly.
To modify the order in the mobile application:
- Choose the Sort button at the bottom of the page.
- Specify the sorting criteria.
- Choose the ADD button. If necessary, additional sorting criteria can be added.
Note
The order cannot be modified later and is evaluated in the order of entry.
By pressing the APPLY SORTING button, the results will appear and will also be inherited to the User Page Customization Sorting page.
This order will apply to the user on this page until it is changed or a change is made in the Global Page Customization Sorting page, which will overwrite all User Page Customizations.
Filtering
Important
Filtering is only possible on fields that have the Filterable option enabled in the Page Customization's Card or List View of the specific page (in this case, CCSMSItemsWS).
The functionality is demonstrated through two examples of filtering records on the Items (CCSMSItemsWS) list page.
Example 1
Display items with 'Bicycle' in the Description or Item No. starting with '17'. Since this is a frequently used filter condition, it should be saved for quicker application in the future.
- Choose the Filter icon in the top-right corner of the list.
- For Connection, choose the or value.
- Choose the + button and enter the filter criteria for the Description. If the condition is not needed, choose the REMOVE button.
- Choose the + button again and enter the filter criteria for the Item No.
If you do not want to save the filter, display the results by choosing the DISPLAY FILTERED RESULTS button. You can return to the filter criteria by selecting the Filter icon in the top-right corner of the list page until you close the list page.
To save the filter for future use, choose the Save button and name the complex filter condition.
Note
When you save a filter, it becomes accessible to all users connected to the same company and using the same list page.
Saved filters can be reused by choosing the Folder icon and then choosing the filter name. Filters can also be deleted from this page.
Example 2
Display only those items that are in stock. The filter should be applied when the item list is opened.
Create and save a new filter, but this time check the Automatically filter with this setting when opening this page option.
Display the results and then close the list. The saved filter will be automatically applied the next time the list page is opened. An active filter is marked with a number at the top-right corner.
These types of filters are indicated by a 'lightning' icon before the filter name.
Searching
If enabled in the User Profile, a quicksearch bar appears above the page type listed above. This function allows you to narrow down the displayed list items by typing or scanning, including complex barcode scanning.
You can search among the fields that are marked as Searchable in the Page Customization.
For lists embedded in a Headerline page, to display as many records as possible, the Jump to Line client action can be used instead of the search field. If the page is List and Card type and the Card is opened using this action, you can close the card and immediately start a new quick search by using the Exit and Jump to client action.
Important
The quick search is case sensitive, and when searching for partial matches, the * (astrisk) character must be used.
Selection
By selecting one or more records, it is possible to display and then choose function buttons to perform actions on the selected records.
To select a record in the list, press and hold (long tap) a record. This will switch the list items to selection mode, indicated by a circled icon on the right side of the bar. Then, by briefly pressing (single tap) another record, that record will also be selected or deselected.
To select multiple consecutive records, press and hold the first and then the last list record. If there is a record among the selected ones that does not need to be selected, it can be deselected with a single tap.
If one record is selected, all function buttons marked as visible in the Page Customization will appear and be usable. If more than one record is selected, only those functions that are batch functions will be displayed.
The options for selecting the entire list are:
- Long Tap Method: Long-press the first and last records.
- Select All client action: After long-pressing one record, the Select All client action appears and can be selected.
- Shortcut Key: Define a shortcut key for one of the device's buttons to select all records.
There is a Deselect All client action to remove the selection of the records.
