Journals
The EDI Journals page is the place where the transfer, processing, plausibility check, and error management take place for both incoming and outgoing messages.
The EDI Journals page is accessed using the Tell Me feature. Choose the icon, enter EDI Journals, and then select the related link.
The initialization has automatically created a separate EDI Journal for each transaction type called STD. The No. of Lines field specifies how many lines are associated to the corresponding journal.
You can create as many additional journals as you like and use them for a more detailed processing of your incoming and outgoing messages, such as separating the processing of data of certain partners or distributing the data to be processed among different employees in the company. For more information, see Import Data into a Specific Journal.
There must be at least one EDI Journal per transaction, otherwise it is not possible to carry out the transaction for which no EDI Journal exists. Make sure that there is at least one journal for each required transaction and do not delete it by mistake.
Creating a New EDI Journal
To create missing journals, choose the New button.
Enter a code in the Journal Name field and select the corresponding transaction type in the Transaction Type field. After that, you can process your incoming or outgoing messages for the selected transaction using the created journal.
