Price Calculation with Checklist
When calculating price with the checklist, it is possible to create a quotation costing without providing a document BOM and calculation scheme. The checklist takes over, thereby offering the additional function of a price list or sales manual, where certain options are provided with additional charges and/or if a standard option is deselected, a price reduction will calculate.
Calculating the price with the checklist can be used for the document calculation with the calculation scheme. The function of the document calculation is to verify the sales price based on a BOM.
Note
Checklist Lines with Type = Question, Answer, or Selection Option are included in price calculations; lines with Type = Headline are excluded.
Checklist Document
On the Document Checklist, the Lines and Calculation FastTab include the fields that are relevant for price calculations on the checklist lines.
Lines FastTab
The fields on the Lines FastTab are described in the following table.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Add. Charge/Price Reduction | If the checklist is used for the sales price calculation, an additional charge/price reduction can be entered on the checklist lines. When the checklist is opened on the document, this price is included in the price calculation if the Selected checkbox is selected on the line or if the answer line was set up as Selection Option for the question. |
Formula Add. Charge/Price Reduction | Uses a formula to calculate the increase/decrease in price in the Add. Charge/Price Reduction field when the Recalculate action is run. Choose the first ellipsis button to open the Formula Editor, which can assist with formula creation. Choose the second ellipsis button to insert variables or dyn. user functions. |
Discount Possible | Determines whether the Add. Charge/Price Reduction on the checklist lines is discountable or not. If this checkbox is selected, then the value in the Discount % field on the Calculation FastTab is deducted proportionally from the Add. Charge/Price Reduction and then added to the sales price. |
Line Discount | Identifies a discount rate that is applied to the Add. Charge/Price Reduction. This value is calculated in addition to the checklist discount, if the Discount Possible checkbox is selected on the line. |
Add. Weight/Weight Reduction | If the checklist is used for the weight calculation, an additional weight/weight reduction can be entered on the checklist lines. When the checklist is opened on the document, this weight is included in the weight calculation if the Selected checkbox is selected on the line or the line was set up as Selection Option for the question. |
Calculation FastTab
The fields on the Calculation FastTab are described in the following table.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Calculation Price Base | Defaults from the sales price of the sales line. |
Calculation Weight Base | Defaults from the Net Weight field on the Item Card. |
Discount % | General discount rate that is deducted from the Calculation Price Base. If the Discount Possible checkbox is selected on a checklist line, then the registered value will be recalculated from the Add. Charge/Price Reduction field and deducted from the Calculation Price. |
Calculation Price | System calculated sales price according to the following formula: Calculation Price = "Calculation Price Base" - Discount % -/+ (Add. Charge/Price Reduction - Line Discount) |
Calculation Weight | System calculated weight according to the following formula: Calculation Weight = "Calculation Weight Base" -/+ Add. Weight/Weight Reduction |
In LCY | Determines whether the calculation price is to be converted into local currency. |
Base Changed | Indicates whether the sales price of the sales line was changed since the last price calculation. If it has, then a new calculation is necessary. |
Example
In the following video, a sales order is created for item D-1000 with a sales price of 30000. This amount along with the net weight of 1180 are copied into the Calculation FastTab in the document checklist. The checklist lines show the additional charges and weights.
Using the selection options and the Calculate Price function, the price of the item is calculated with the additional charges and weights and increases to 33050 and the weight increases to 1680. Then a discount of 10% is entered which reduces the price to 30045.
While not shown in the video, you can use the Transfer Unit Price function to transfer the calculated sales price and net weight to the sales line.
