Archive Rental Documents
An archived document (Rental Quote, Rental Reservation, and Rental Contract) can be restored or deleted permanently.
For archived documents where the original still exists and is not posted, you can use the Restore function to overwrite the original with the archived version of the document. This is useful if you need to restore the contents of a document to an earlier state.
Setup
In the Rental Setup page, the fields in the Archiving FastTab determine general settings for archiving documents.

| Archive Rental Quotes | Determines if and how a rental quote can be archived. The options are: - Never: rental quotes will never be archived upon deletion. - Question: Prompts the user to choose whether to archive a rental quote upon deletion. - Always: rental quotes will be automatically archived upon deletion. |
| Archive Rental Contracts | Determines if all rental contracts will be automatically archived upon deletion. |
| Archive Rental Reservation | Determines if all rental reservations will be automatically archived upon deletion. |
To manually archive a rental document
- Open a rental document that you want to archive.
- On the Rental Quote or Rental Reservation, choose the Archive Document action; on the Rental Contract, choose Functions > Archive Document on the Actions menu.
The rental document is archived. You can open the archived document for this rental document from the No. of Archived Versions field on the General FastTab or for all rental documents from Tell Me by choosing Rental Quote Archives, Rental Reservation Archives, or Rental Contract Archives.
To restore an un-posted rental document from the archive
You can restore the contents of an archived rental document back to the original rental document. This is only possible when the original document has not been posted.
- Choose the
icon, enter the rental document (Rental Quote Archives, Rental Reservation Archives, or Rental Contract Archives), and then choose the related link. - Choose the archived rental document to restore.
- Choose the Restore action.
The contents of the original rental document is replaced with that of the selected archived version.
